WOW. I watched this years ago when I had very low self confidence. Immediately after watching this I began walking with purpose and without closing myself up (faking it). I soon forgot about this video. But in the last week, one person has asked me, "How are you so confident and how can I exude that same level of confidence?" and today another person asked me, "How do you walk the way you do? I want to walk like that." I was genuinely so confused by these two questions. My face when they asked me probably showed how speechless I was. But then I remembered this video and realized how over time I stopped faking it and eventually at some point unbeknownst to me I became it. How simple. Believe in yourself. Wow.

"Don't fake it until you make it. Fake it until you become it."

My teacher showed this to my class during my freshman year of high school. Now in my second year of college, I can truly say this video has changed my life for the better so much. I myself have "faked" so much my first year of college, faked being the person I want to be. Let me tell you...there will come a point when you suddenly realize you are not faking it anymore. One of the best feelings I have ever experienced.

I am 4 years behind from my peers. And I believe it's time for me to fake the hell out of it.

I love that she gets emotional about this, and that she has done this talk anyway. This is incredible !

I just clicked on this video because "why not?" Definitely didn't expect to cry.

I'm gonna make it or die trying.

This woman is a true hero. She says the right things. people often pretend, even though they don't know what they're pretending to be. someday there will come a moment, they will suddenly realize that they are no longer pretending. one of the best feelings in the world.

I remember watching this video a year ago, when I was studying at college and struggling with the same thing as Amy Cuddy back at that times. This video really helped me to overcome all the difficulties that i had and boosted my confidence a lot. I started doing things, that i never thought i could do. That’s how I became a better version of myself :) It was also interesting to learn how our body language affects on our self-awareness. By saying it, I mean the fact that it comes naturally and even blind people act in the same way during the victorious moments, as sighted people do.
I just want to say a huge thank you to Amy Cuddy for giving this speech. I think, that this video should be shown at schools and colleges, so that students, could draw on her experience and gain motivation from Amy’s personal story

Ms. Cuddy is more than a voice that can coach nor even instruct upon methods. She supplies a wide range of attainable means that transforms based on individual mind-sets. Imitative behavior is often banal but essential on levels of awareness & non-awareness - with Ms. Cuddy being able to supply target examples, which affect thoughts / feelings which can be grasped & embedded within us, as social animals + as self-aware beings. Her talk supplied examples, snippets of facts, & a LOT of groundwork that adds weight to her arguments, adding effective measures likely to get results. She is a woman who is a force of Nature, believing in her words, a product of a life that made such concepts as valid resources to build within ourselves a better "us".
Thank you, thank you for such an informative, potentially life-changing, talk.

Great advice, delivered by a warrior determined to win, despite wounds. A great lesson for the emotionally wounded on how too fake it until you become it. Thank you

When I was a student I always asked my teacher to decrease my grade cuz I thought I didn’t deserve that. As I was getting older it turned to a bad habit. Every time when I got promotion I used to quit my job since I believed “I’m not supposed to be here”. I did it many times although ppl around me always said that I’m more than this. So this video just opened my eyes. Hope there is still a chance to succeed.

Gold. What ive been saying to myself for years.... "change your physiology, change your thoughts" ... then what ever you believe about yourself will be your reality.

Amy Cuddy, you are one remarkable human being. This is so insanely accurate. I work in a male-dominated field (agriculture) and I see these power stances ALL THE TIME and boy are these guys confident. The rare farmers who don't have that stance are usually the ones who aren't achieving the yields that others in the same region are achieving and man, you can just see the lack of confidence exuding from them. I myself feel like all the time and I have been stressing about how limiting my lack of confidence is. I can't wait to start implementing this and teaching to people.

This video help me to prepare for my final year presentation. I fake the shit out of my presentation to make myself think that i am confident. And it really does help me be more confident and relax during presenting. Thanks a lot.
