God dammit. The part where he just puts on his mask, turns around, and then looks back one last time as if he's finally accepting giving up MJ and swings off is perfect.

This. This is the reason why Tobey's Spiderman will always be the best cinematic rendition of the character to me. This Spiderman just understood the character so well, because while he may not be the funniest or have the craziest technology, he has something more important than any quip or gadget. He has heart.

This film truly embodies what a Hero should be, self sacrifice. Living in a crappy apartment, being fired from your job, watching your Idol (Doc Ock) get killed, your best friend hating you, your girl being with another dude; yet you still push forward because who you are is bigger than any of those things.

There's so much tenderness and genuine emotion in this scene.

Something that's completely lacking in today's comic book films. It's all about the comic relief, popular culture jokes and mindless set pieces.

I think lots of people don't realize how much Raimi nailed this character. For example, in the scene where Peter attempts to jump across the buildings, he says he is focusing as much as he can to regain his powers. But he fails to do so. In real life so many people try their hardest to accomplish goals and sometimes it just doesn't fall through. This is what Peter Parker is. He is the guy on the outside looking in who is trying his hardest.

This scene gets me every damn time. Despite all the tears, heartache, and setbacks. Peter still gets back up, puts on the mask, and continues to be Spider-man. We never had scenes like this with Andrew or Tom that shows heart and human emotion the way Tobey did it. This is why he will always be the best Spider-man to me.

I don't know about anyone else, but whenever I'm dealing with a breakup or any sort of intimate relationship detachments, this scene always helps me with closure. This scene strongly emphasizes that it's okay to let someone go, especially when it's best for you. I don't know if that's just me, but this scene really helps me. Such a magnificent film.

That close up shot of Peter on the crane watching Mary Jane coupled with the music gives me goosebumps everytime.

I didn't remember this scene... The moment he puts on his mask and gets ready to swing away combined with the soundtrack brought shivers to my body. He will truly always be Spiderman.

That shot at 1:50 is truly powerful. And the best part is there's no jokes to ruin what felt like a heartbreaking moment and then of course it's even made better by him putting on the mask and then looking back at what he feels he won't ever have, a normal life and mary jane. Sam Raimi and the writers just knew man.

This is what makes him a hero. Not Just the fact that he uses extraordinary abilities to save ppl but that he is willing to sacrifice everything he wants in life even the love of his life to save the people.
