I enjoy how healthy the relationship was between Otto and his wife. She said that they weren’t perfect, he agreed. He talked about her English literature, but even with his incredible pride in science, he didn’t belittle her study, even said that some of the things she does is more complex. They lift each other up with just a few sentences. I aspire for it

I think Alfred molina is still one of the best live action spiderman villain, he did such a great work with his role.

Peter losing his powers can be summed up in that line:
“If you keep something as complicated as love stored up inside, it can make you sick.”

"It's great to see you dear boy"
That line melted my heart. He probably considers him as the closest person to a son to him, and after he sees Peter all grown up, he couldn't help but smile and be proud of him. "Trying to do better" is just the icing on the cake

"Rosie, our new friend here thinks I'm gonna blow up the city"

That didn't aged well

"You're all grown up... how are you?"

"Trying to do better."

I like how Otto treats him as a student but not a lesser. The “go on” at 0:15 is such a teacher moment. He’s allowing Peter to get to the answer himself because he knows he is smart enough to get there. It’s very important to students to get that sort of encouragement and approval.

Alfred made the character so tragic by first making him so likable. Character development is everything.

I really think that Dr. Otto wasn't the bad guy. He was just broken about his wife's death. But in the end he was a real hero 🤷

I love how they inserted this detail of Otto having studied science and Rosie literature. We see that Otto, even before the accident, has a 100% scientific mind, even too much so. But we’re more or less told that Rosie’s love of literature and poetry is what softened him and made him learn to truly love his job, and also to pursue his scientific goals for a higher and noble purpose, not just for the mere sake of it. When Rosie dies, only the cold and calculating scientist remains, pursuing his project like a machine would, with no warmth or love.
And this all parallels with Peter needing to open up with MJ, and at least give her all the elements to freely choose whether to take the inevitable risks or not; because she’s Spidey’s heart like Rosie is Otto’s, so Peter would’ve become a far lesser version of himself had he forsaken his love for her.

Can you imagine how epic it would be if doc ock in no way home greets the Tobey Peter and says "Peter Parker brilliant but lazy"

This scene just goes to show how tobeys Peter Parker was so nerdy and scientific. Like I hear a lot of tasm and mcu fans saying how tobeys Peter Parker didn't show any nerdiness or any scientific background but this scene just proves them wrong

Peter is such a dork in these movies it’s hilarious but I love it

I love that Otto is portrayed as kind and thoughtful as a massive contrast to what he becomes....but I love that Otto choose to die a man rather than a monster to end the threat he began in his obsession.
Mollena is an amazing actor..

I love this scene. Short but it gets the job done. The movie gets you to sympathize with a guy who would later become Doc Ock.

Easily the most human and sympathetic this character has ever been 😊

Alfred's acting here was phenomenal. The way he acted I almost thought I was in a real life scenario for a good minute

The lesson i learned in this movie is that "Brilliance is not a privilege, it's a gift, and you use it for the good of mankind."
- Otto Octavious
