Sam Raimi's Triolgy actaully made Uncle Ben seem as if he is the most important character in spidermans life.

This isn't just a superhero movie, its an actual film with great acting/writing/music/etc.

This scene got me all teared up as a kid, when Peter refuses to take Ben's hand and you see the look on Ben's face it's heartbreaking.
Possibly the best scene in the entire trilogy.

Now this scene is strange because the actor who played Ben DID pass away in real life is Spiderman no more.

I honestly start crying every time I see this scene. It shows how miserable and desperate Peter is, his internal conflict of wanting to live out his dreams and have the normal life he always wanted as opposed to being Spider-Man. He can't fully be with MJ as Spider-Man because he knows it will eventually put her life in danger. Him talking to Uncle Ben was essentially his sub-conscious. It shows the impact his uncle's death had on him and that he still hasn't fully recovered from it. I think we've all been there. Wanting to have a normal life and pursue our dreams yet there's always some aspect of our identity that limits us from this. When uncle Ben asks Peter to take his hand I lose it. "I am Spider-Man no more." This isn't just an action-packed superhero movie. This movie had a ton of genuine heart and soul and that's why it will always be the greatest superhero movie of all time. This movie is honestly a masterpiece.

I love how Uncle Ben says “Peter, all the times we talked about…” as in saying Peter frequently visits the last time him and his Uncle Ben last spoke and uses it to talk to him, in his mind. Really brings a different layer to his character, symbolizing his entire struggles and how he views his Uncle Ben as his safe space, even if in the final moments, he nearly shunned him away. The love between these two is unreal.

Such a beautiful scene.. Reminds me of my old man.. This is what is missing from Superhero movies these days. The humanity.

The greatest scene in the whole trilogy. R.I.P. Cliff Robertson. The best Uncle Ben ever!

Man this movie dealt with inner conflict so poetically. Peter wasn't just stressed out by his inability to participate in normal life. Here Peter also felt he was betraying Uncle Ben's promise and spirit if he gave up. Thats just heartbreaking.

You can't tell how much the score brings up the sincerity with those characters. Tobey Maguire and Cliff Robertson's performance is an iconic masterpiece!

There's something mature and emotionally heavy about the Raimi Trilogy that I haven't seen in any other superhero movie other than the Dark Knight Trilogy. Both are without a doubt, some of the best pieces of cinematic art.

I would've wanted a scene where Peter actually takes uncle ben's hand :(

Danny Elfman is one of the greatest composers of all time. For the reboot, Marvel Studios should just use the fuck it adjustment and have Elfman come back with his original theme.

With great movies comes shitty reboots that no one asked for.

In times where i am at my lowest, this scene pops up in my head. It's so weak, it's so vulnerable, you can really feel how peter has absolutely given up and is done. Something about it just speaks to me heavily.

I like the symbolism of this scene. Not only was this the last time Peter and Uncle Ben talked to each other before the latter's death but with Ben in the driver's seat and Peter in the passenger seat it represents how Uncle Ben's dreams have driven Peter's life so much that he wants to live his own life and be the driver.
