Look up Greg Bifle cleetus McFarland. Operation air drop. 20 plus private helicopter pilots and birds showed up to fly in supplies. Free of charge. Thank you to the pilots that dropped all to make sure supplies get to those who need them and fly out the sick and injured to a safe place to get help.

Our beautiful Lake Lure! Such sweet memories were made there! And the flower bridge is gone! I loved that bridge!

Americans helping Americans, what a novel idea. Reaching out and caring about our fellow humans, that is my America.

We all need to chip in and help our American brothers and sisters that were devastated by this storm. Samaritans Purse, donating for the helicopters, and let's not forget the pets.

Why is no one talking about the Lake Lure Fire Chiefs that tried to arrest volunteer rescuers? That fire Chief needs to be released from his position.

I live in Florida and I feel bad for the people in Tennessee and North Carolina. Those were always 2 of my go to States if a hurricane ever destroyed my place. Thank God they always stay off the coast and head north. But my day could come. It's weather.

Keeping all of you in my prayers.
Our small town in southern Minnesota was hit with storms in the early part of this summer.
About 95% of the town was underwater.
We live on higher ground, but I'm not kidding here, we had fish in our basement.
The dump trucks are still going by loaded with debris.
Take care of each other, help each other, you'll get through this.

Good point about the silt. I bet on the upper stretches of the lake, it’s not really a lake, it filled up with silt. That’s what happens with damed up lakes over time, except this was a hundred years of silt in one day.

Lake Lure NC fire chief allegedly threatened a private helicopter pilot to stop rescue missions. Jordan Seidhom, who had made a number of rescues over a day and a half, and worked with several fire and rescue personnel, had just rescued a stranded woman when he was approached by the fire chief and threatened to be arrested for interfering. Seidhom was told not to fly back up the hill to get his son, who stayed behind with the woman’s husband, as there was only room for one person at a time in his aircraft. Despite the threat, Seidhom returned for his son, but was forced to leave the man stranded, and now separated from his wife.

I used to live at lake lure village resort, it's a cursed place. From fires, to floods and even hurricanes too bad, there's some great people that live there
