Let's talk about the best natural remedy to prevent heart attacks: niacin.

There's a lot of research on niacin that goes back decades. A placebo-controlled study called the Coronary Drug Project used niacin to show incredible results.

It's important to get the type of niacin that gives you a flush—extended-release niacin is best.

The benefits of niacin:
• It can significantly lower cholesterol
• It has potent cardiovascular protection effects
• It's been found to decrease monocytes and other white blood cells and the inflammation that goes along with them
• It can lower CRP (a predictor of heart attacks, peripheral vascular disease, and stroke)

Niacin inhibits:
• Vascular oxidation
• Oxidative LDL
• Vascular inflammation
• Lipid deposits on artery walls
• Triglycerides

Niacin has the power to slow and reverse arteriosclerosis. It can decrease the mortality risk in people who have cardiovascular disease. It may also prevent endothelial dysfunction and can significantly reduce adhesions in the artery walls. It even increases HDL—known as the "good" cholesterol.

Statins are a common medication for high cholesterol. It's true that statins block and lower cholesterol. But there is no evidence that statins reduce your risk of heart attacks.

Statins work by blocking the production of cholesterol. The problem is that you need cholesterol to make bile salts. Without bile salts, you can't absorb important vitamins. You also need cholesterol to make testosterone.

It's unknown whether statins increase your life or not. But we do know they have a lot of side effects, including:
• Blocking coenzyme Q10 (the heart requires coenzyme Q10)
• Muscle wasting
• Low blood pressure
• Heart failure
• Muscle aches and pain

If you're concerned about your heart, talk to your doctor about taking niacin.

RE: My recommendations for the type of Niacin. You won't have options for buying this vitamin (synthetic or natural). The only thing to keep in mind with buying niacin, to get the benefits I described is that you want the one that creates the flushing response. The non-flush doesn't give you the heart benefits, however, does give different benefits.

While visiting my cardiologist the other day I asked him about this. He actually told me cardiologist no longer recommend it. I asked why, and he couldn't give me a straight answer. Needless to say I'm taking it now.

It's actually so sad to learn how we are being lied to in society by those people we in theory should trust the most: doctors, politicians etc. Everything is upside down

This is a game changer! I'm 58 year old male in good shape, except I was struggling with high BP for about 7 months. At first they said because I had kidney stones at the time, (because of the chronic pain) I had high BP. However, after the stones were removed, BP went down, but... not as much as I (or my Dr.'s would like). I was still around 140(145)/86(90). Lost 10 pounds, no change in BP. Went for a CTA heart scan with contrast, ZERO plague all is clear, no issues at all. BUT.. BP was still high. I have been taken Losartin 25 mg the whole time.. After 4 days of Niacin, BP steady at 117/71, my Dr. wants me to stop using Losartin and see what happens... Thanks Dr. Berg!!!

This man is saving lives. I've seen multiple doctors in uk and Australia about high cholesterol and none of them have ever mentioned Niacin. Just statins. Doctors care about your money, not your good health.

My sister is a practioner for heart patients, and she told my grandfather to take niacin when he had inflammation around heart. He never had problems after that.

Dr. Berg is without a doubt the best selfless patriot I've ever seen on this platform. His likes and subscriptions speaks for itself. As a generational military veteran, who's family has a history of diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis, I take this information to "❤" literally. Thank you Dr. berg for all that you clearly spend your personal time bringing to us.

Wow, my dad took copious amounts of niacin for the last 25 years of his life. He too had early diagnosed afib and, for as long as I can recall, took a number of supplements including niacin. He would have me go into Kroger‘s and buy every bottle that they had on the shelf at the time. I don’t know how many milligrams he took each day but it was a lot. He would experience that red flash after taking him and explain to me that it was a proof that “the niacin was doing its job.” He died at 84 from cancer. I have no doubt that the niacin helped him live to that age.

There's something out there that still only costs $3.19? That's even more surprising.

Dr Berg, thank you so much for this video on Niacin! I recently had an arrythmia episode that I had to go to emergency for because it lasted 2 hours at a heart rate of 200!! Afterwards I had every major sign of a coming heart attack with both chest and left arm pain. My cardiologist never mentioned that I would have heart inflammation from such an episode or gave me anything for it so I suffered for almost a month. Then I took the Niacin as you said with the flushing effect. It worked wonders within just 3 days when all of my heart symptoms completely disappeared!!! They don’t tell you that an episode like that is like climbing Mt Everest for 2 hours only sitting still! So somehow the Niacin lowered my heart inflammation level along with other things. I did go back and do a stress test with my cardiologist and I’m waiting for the results now to follow. I just know that I’m going to be much more open to alternatives to what the medical community wants to prescribe for me and you definitely made that difference for me! God bless you and keep on informing the public! 😃

As a kid I clearly remember my mother and grandmother taking Niacin, this was almost 55 years ago. The reason I remember is because they would blush almost hot pink, specifically my grandmother. My mother past away from a stroke, but after taking a severe blow to the head by falling. My grandmother died of natural causes at 112. She died at home and we were out drinking at restaurants till 106. My father is currently 103 and healthier than myself and lives independently. I should had started taken Niacin long ago, instead I am taking Crestor.

Thank you so much Dr.Berg for mentioning Niacin as a treatment for lowering cholesterol I actually started taking it about four months ago and it has already lowered my cholesterol and as you mentioned much more tolerable than a statin. You are now officially my family doctor and I don't have to wait three hours to see you. Your videos are awesome and so informative.
