Let’s talk about one of the best remedies for eczema, also known as dermatitis or atopic dermatitis.

This is a skin condition where you have extreme dryness and sometimes a red rash or itchiness.

Typical eczema treatments, like steroids, have potential side effects. So, we want to focus on natural alternatives for eczema.

This condition could be due to a deficiency of essential fatty acids caused by a poor diet or a genetic problem.

The #1 remedy for eczema:
• Black currant seed oil (GLA)

What to do:
1. Take five drops of black currant seed oil and rub it in your hands to warm it up. Then apply it to the affected area.

2. Take a black currant seed oil supplement or a few drops with water orally.

Not too sure if this will help anyone but I was having eczema for the past 15 years, had it over my arms and neck, cured myself for free and within one week. That was about a year ago and am still free of eczema. What I did was fasting for 3 days. None of the doctors I was seeing told me about it. I did my own research.

I dealt with eczema as a child and it would rear its ugly head into my adulthood, showing up on various body parts (hands, back of legs, arms, etc). Later on, after growing tired of dealing with condescending dermatologists who just wanted to prescribe steroid creams because I, as one of them put it, "had a disease", I decided to get to the bottom of things on my own. I found that, in my case, eczema was related to both candida overgrowth (likely, leaky gut as well) and sensitivity to outdoor allergens (trees, molds, grasses). I started to notice that diet played a strong role, so I cleaned up my diet by eliminating dairy, most processed foods, and refined sugars. I then did a 7-day raw juice cleanse that proved to be life-changing; not only did my skin clear up immediately, but my skin was GLOWING. I later followed this by taking a high-quality probiotic and flaxseed oil, which I continue to take as well as fish oil. Haven't had a flare-up in over 15 years.

I firmly believe that eczema can be traced to a gut health issue, not a skin 'disease'.

I cured my eczema by cutting out sugar, starches and milk and increasing my leafy green vegetable intake.

I suffered for decades with eczema & the scarring. It finally disappeared when i left a very stressful environment. However the scars remained for another decade.

I had eczema on my neck 7 or 8 years ago. The dermatologist prescribed steriod cream. The eczema left my neck, but moved to other areas of my body. Using the cream would help in one place, but then the eczema would appear on another place on my body. Quite by accident, I found that using a body lotion with peppermint oil in it was very helpful in controlling the eczema all over my body. I use a body wash, soap, and lotion with peppermint oil every day, and almost never have problems with eczema now.

I work at an animal allergy and dermatology clinic and the way they treat skin issues is a lot different than in humans. Skin issues are usually related to something going on internally such as diet insufficiencies or food allergies/sensitivities (it can be environmental too). Their goal is never to put an animal on long-term medication, it's always to find the underlying cause. In my experience, it's been the opposite for humans. When I go to the doctor or dermatologist for a skin issue they give me a topical medication and don't talk about anything that could be causing the issue.
I've noticed with myself and other people ik with skin conditions (including eczema) that the condition can get worse with certain foods or lack of a balanced diet. One person had eczema flare-ups after drinking coffee and they found the only thing they can have is black espresso.

I have had eczema since I was a baby - I've used steroids and all sorts over the years, then at the age of 57, for no particular reason, I stopped drinking milk (I eat other dairy products and used to have skimmed milk in my coffee) and to my surprise my eczema disappeared - all those years of cracked skin and itchy blisters gone, it's amazing!

There are many ways to control and heal Eczema. But one thing that is often overlooked is the liver. If you have bad skin it means you have a grubby liver. Your skin is acting as a second liver. Milk Thistle can actually heal your liver. The recommended dose for most adults is 1 teaspoon of Milk Thistle twice a day. It can be added to smoothies and juice.

Yes, I suffer with eczema now from time to time and I use black seed oil and the soap too! Fasting helps clear it up as well. I’ll do a prolonged fast when it gets bad.

This explains why the only thing that's been helping my eczema is popping open a capsule of evening primrose oil and rubbing it on the affected area! Awesome, thank you

Ok, it’s been about 2 months since I tried the black currant seed oil and it works for me! It was immediate relief from itching when I applied it topically and over the course of a week my eczema cleared up significantly. Unfortunately I’m not able to keep my bare hands from doing dishes daily so my eczema hasn’t completely gone away. I’m convinced that if I could stay away from the dishes (gloves do not work for me) I could get rid of it completely. Thank you Dr. Berg!!

I suffered from this some time ago. Then my Ayurvedic doctor advised me to get off sour foods for a couple of months. My morning routine at that time was two cups of warm water with the juice of a small lemon/two tablespoons. It instantly helped. I've not had it back ever since.

I had eczema on my hands from my teens well into my forties. I’ll never know if I had the genetic predisposition to it, but I do feel that my high carb, high sugar diet made it worse. There’s also the stress factor. Since I retired, I’ve been practically eczema free, along with mostly eliminating grains and cane sugar from my diet and increasing the fatty acids.

All those years of suffering with itching and cracked hands. I wish I could time travel to my past self and tell her what I know.
