Why Yoda Didn't Want To Train Luke Skywalker And Preferred Leia

The fall of Anakin Skywalker through his attachment to Padme was perhaps Grand Master Yoda’s biggest failure. Yoda spent many years in exile regretting that he did not train Anakin himself, believing that it was Anakin's stubbornness and attachment that led to his downfall. In many ways, Luke took on the characteristics of his father, while Leia took on the level-headed and leader-like qualities of her mother. With the fall of Anakin still in his mind, Yoda was reluctant to train Luke, despite the ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s insistence. Ultimately though, Yoda was wrong. While Leia would have made a powerful Jedi, it was Luke’s brashness and refusal to give up on his father that led to Vader’s redemption and the eventual fall of the empire.

Honestly it always felt like the other way round to me. Leia showed a lot more of Anakin's characteristics in the OT, whereas Luke was able to see the good still present in his father just like Padme. I'd say it was the qualities inherited from his mother that ultimately helped him resist the Dark Side.

Yoda is stupid if he thought this (I haven't watched the video yet) leia was in love with han solo and she got angry easily too, if she was in fight with vader instead of luke she would have killed vader and joined the dark side, at start she wouldn't want to become a sith and hated the emperor but later she would overthrow the emperor but the dark side would've consumed her and she would rule her empire niw

Obi Wan and Yoda very specifically wanted Luke to become a Jedi. He inherited a lot of Padmes qualities while Leia inherited much more of Anakin.
