In Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, why didn't Mace Windu, upon learning from Anakin Skywalker that Palpatine is the Sith lord they've been looking for...take Master Yoda with him? Or at least, converse with him?

There was no time, and he knew he could/had to beat him, which was confirmed by Lucas himself. He was probably the only Jedi at the time who could because of his saber style and force skills. While he may have been cocky at first, when it came down to it he surprised Sidious and had him dead to rights. Palpatine had to use Anakin to get him out of that mess.

I always think the plan to take down Sidious to be a desperate last move by the Jedi Council on Coruscant. I wonder what Yoda’s reaction would be if he learnt Mace’s plans tho. He’d most likely ask Mace to stop.

I know anakin wanted palpatines guidance and help to keep padme alive. But how did he not see the slaughtered jedi masters on the floor as he entered the office? Did he just not care about them?

I agree. I think that if he waited for yoda's response palpatine would have used his powers to prevent his arrest. I think his motion would have been met with the same reaction when he created the Galactic Empire. "So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause." Good theory and I hope the Vader fan film is coming along great :D

Mace can't be faulted for thinking that four Jedi Masters would be enough to bring down Palpatine, but at the same time, it may've been more prudent to assemble a larger force of Jedi. I know that most Masters were elsewhere in the galaxy (as seen in the Order 66 clips), but surely there were more than four powerful non-Anakin Jedi on Coruscant that could have gone as well.
