In romantic relationships during this phase, you become the center of their universe, as if the sun and moon revolves around you. However, their behavior eventually transitions into the devalue phase, where they systematically dismantle your self-worth bit by bit. Finally, they reach the discard stage, where they believe they have extracted all they can from the relationship or friendship, and they lose interest, effectively washing their hands of you.
However, when they leave, you never really know if they’re gone for good because there’s something else that’s characteristics of these relationships, and that’s their lack of any really closure.
