What was your childhood like? Have you ever wondered how your childhood affects your mental health? Not everyone gets to spend childhood in a stable and supportive household. Some children experience abuse at a young age, while others are victim to poverty, bullying, illness, or discrimination. The things we experience as a child often stick with us well into adulthood. Habits are learned, relationships often repeat themselves, and every big change we encounter leaves a lasting impact. In this video, we will be diving deep into more examples of how your childhood affects your mental health.

Individuals with childhood trauma show much more depression, anxiety, distorted cognition, personality deficits, and lower levels of social support, which may represent the social and psychological vulnerability for developing psychiatric disorders after childhood trauma experiences.👍

Anxiety is having to remind myself that being afraid of things going wrong isn't the way to make things go right.

If I could redo my childhood (and probably have different parents), I definitely think I’d be a happier person now

having a narcissist mother who’s physically and mentally abusive is one of the most toxic relationships. I have now CPTSD and ASPD thanks to this childhood.

Mental health is not a destination but a process. It is about how you drive, not where you are going. Your mental health is a priority, you do not have to struggle in silence 🖖

Did you know intense mental stress stunts your growth? Obviously mental and spiritual. But also hormonal and physically.

I was wondering why i was so short and people would comment on how my little brothers would be taller than me. Being bullied or insulted nearly daily and having to do the Lion's share of the housework has made me unable to relax or be truly calm mentally and has put a lot of stress on me. I'm 17 and about 5'2"-5'5"(i don't measure). I can still change this by working out, drinking plant based milks (oat milk almond and/or wlanut milk), taking ashwaganda, getting my protein and calories right, getting a lot of sun shine, sleeping on my back, semen retention, and eliminating as much unnecessary stress as possible.

I have anxiety and my life is being destroyed more and more by time, anxiety kills all the moments, if something bad happend my brain makes it worse and worse by inflating the issue, if not, it indicates me that something terrible is gonna happen,
So l live between 2 beasts, sadness and anxiety, ,

Psych2go: "What was childhood like?"

Me: Just some sexual abuse and bullying. My mother lowkey thinking its my fault for the sexual abuse. Uhhh a very complx relationship with my mother. One minute she says she loves me and hugs me the next she would get hostile and angry at me.

But then points at me like I'm the issue to the sad point where i just don't trust myself anymore.
