In this video I share 8 red flags to avoid in your workers comp case! These are some of the most common mistakes I’ve seen injured workers make during my 17 years as a New York workers compensation lawyer. Some of the topics I cover include when to file, giving proper notice, communicating with your doctor, independent medical exams (IMEs), settling your case, “light duty” work, quitting your job, and the difference a lawyer can make. Avoid these red flags and you’ll not only have a better chance of getting your case approved, but also maximizing your benefits!

I got my left forearm severed at work. Then I was fired, but they did pay for my medical bills but I was not receiving compensation for over a year. I lost everything I owned. Then I finally got a workers comp attorney that said in order for me to get compensated, I had to sign a paper stating that I won't file with the EEOC or I would get no compensation. I was young and didn't know better so I signed. The next day I asked for a copy of the letter I signed, the attorney said what paper. 29 years later, I still haven't recovered financially.
