I agree. I had the Steam Deck LCD and sold it to get the Legion Go. After 2 days with it, i returned it. It was a very good device, but Windows was a pain to deal with. Also, battery life was worse. I went ahead and ordered a Steam Deck Oled, which should arrive next week. The Steam OS makes a world of a difference, and the better battery life makes it a must-have. Great video BTW 👍🏻

After doing a new playthrough on Trails in the Sky on my Steam Deck OLED (had my first playthrough on a PSP), I bought all the rest, which was an additional 10 games with overarching storylines equating to 600-700 hours. I’m now on the 10th game of the series, Trails into Reverie and have already sunk in 120 hours of gameplay on it alone. The Steam Deck saved gaming for me.

Just got mine a couple of days ago. Impressive how nice 45fps feels on a 90Hz dizplay. Revisiting Dark Souls 3 is being a blast. And the whole process was like >login steam >download game> click play and play.

Hey everyone, I’m planning to buy a Steam Deck, which will be my first handheld gaming device. I have a pretty powerful PC, but I rarely find the time to sit down and play games on it. So, I thought a handheld might be a better fit for me.

What do you guys recommend? Should I go for the LCD version or the OLED version of the Steam Deck?

After viewing a good amount of YouTube and Reddit reviews, I finally ordered an OLED 512G today 12/27/24. Definitely a HUGE upgrade from my GBA lol! Look forward to emudeck, chiaki, completing all my unfinished games and then some!! Great content! Thank you!

The fact that GTA V with its massive open world plays so well on the steamdeck(granted no as clear and smooth as PC) but at least no slow pacing says so ich about the system being awesome. Only bummer is many of my favorite games aren’t available.

I bought the original LCD one, they were on sale recently, I like it but I wouldn't say the battery life is good at all. Even without playing really demanding games, it goes down so fast. I don't mind it since I'm playing mostly at home, but it's a thing to think about if you're planning to use it out and about. Also, not all the games on Steam are available on the Steamdeck (which to me is stupid, if your device is called Steamdeck, I expect I can play all the games that are on Steam). Other than that, I'm really enjoying it. I wanted to try some PC games but couldn't really invest in a gaming PC right now, so this is a good alternative for me for now.

Had a steam deck LCD. Got a legion go and realised windows is not ready for handheld. Got the Steam Deck oled and couldn’t be happier.
