Skip the video, if you like indie's and non super graphically demanding games and need or want a small powerful linux pc for around 500$ yes, do it, the deck even emulates switch and ps3 so you won't need to carry multiple devices around, on a buget or just like semi owning your games? the high sea's are there fer plundering as well, I bought mine a few months ago and am loving it, I have a beefier gaming rig for the big AAA titles and I still use my deck everyday.

Grabbed the 512 lcd for 414 during summer sell
Since then ive put probly about 800 hrs into playing games
Went back and beat all my favorites like Skyrim fallout nv and even ran threw Spiderman and god of war and even played threw Hogwarts leg and rdr2 just to push the lil guy a bit lol
I've probably put more hrs into the steam deck since I bought it then my pc and xbox combined

Nothing beats chilling on the couch or in bed layed back gaming

They only thing the SD hasn't satisfied is the shooter itch
They all suck on steam deck tbh 😅

If you're like me, and have 20 years of Steam games, you will LOVE rediscovering your library and remembering games which prioritize gameplay over top-tier graphics. If I never upgrade to SD2, I will have no regrets. I already have more games that play great on SD1 than I could ever play to completion.

Depends? If you’re caught up on gaming and going from month to month then no.. there aren’t any good games to fill your library
If you haven’t played games every day for 30 years and actually have a backlog then yes! It’s by far the best hand held gaming system

They will not release a new until a new graphic card comes out, now it would not be that much of an upgrade.

Just bought one while they were on sale. Slapped a 512 SSD and a 256g SD card in, good to go for less than $450 (i had the cards sitting around already haha)

I'll wait for a new Steam deck, the hardware is pretty dated at this point and given the evolution of current AMD APUs, the jump in performance will probably be massive in the next Steam Deck iteration.

I'm only getting it for older games from the 2000s and 2010s. Modern games are crap anyway so no point waiting.

I say buy one during the discounts where you can get a Deck for $300. When the new onews comes out, sell it or pass it to a family member. $300 isn't a big financial investment for a years worth of gaming, and you can probably get more use out of it after that if you are hand. Low power consumption makes it perfect as a home server for Plex or file/photo backups. There is probably a way to connect it to a TV as a smart box too.

If you want to be sure of the future, buy Rog Ally, Steam Deck is old technology from 2016 and the games run like ass.
