Okay so I see that a lot of people are asking how much water to add to your eyes well this works perfect for me every time I tap the bowl or whatever I'm using on the counter few times to make it flat and then I put my finger on the top of the rice and measure the water up to my first line knuckle of my finger works every time

I did mine with the steamer's rice cooking bowl. short-grain Nishiki (Sushi rice type) I like to eat it with nori and sesame and vegetables and/or beans, but I think your idea with the glass/ceramic bowl might be a better idea, as long as the bowl is high temperatures safe, such as dishwasher safe materials. I love it, thank you!

Rice Pain in BUTT. I use dehydrated rice, 1 part hot water, 1 part rice, let it set in a covered bowl for 30 min....perfect every time.

The traditional way of adding water to cook rice, is, the water should be approximately ½" to ¾" over the rice line in your bowl, cooker, pan or pot. I've been using this method for years, and it never fails. Long Grain rice might have a slightly higher water line.
