As a Marine veteran, I could never imagine turning my gun on a fellow service member. That’s insane.

This is straight up unforgivable. He has survived many wars only to come back and get shot by a former Marine. My hearts go out to he and his family 😢

My uncle was in the Air Force and this used to be his favorite movie ever before he passed. Opened my eyes a lot to what ptsd really means

Just finished reading his book, he went through hell only to come back home and be killed helping someone. Rest in Peace warrior

Edit: since making this comment 2 years ago I learned more about his lies and the Jesse Ventura case. It’s sad it went down that path, it forever stained his legacy. However it doesn’t take away from his confirmed actions at war and at peace.
Hope he’s in a better place now.

I love the movie "American Sniper" but the ending is just sad. You can’t let your guard down with anyone

The transition is the hardest part. Ask anyone who’s been to war. One minute, you’re somebody. The next, insignificant

I myself am a war vet....Afghanistan, Sargent when I got out in the 82nd airborne paratroopers I was a 77 whiskey which is a fueler I drove big rigs in the Army I served 5 yrs in the military, and a 1 yr in Afghanistan. And now suffer from severe PTSD. My mom and wife noticed a huge change in me. So I got help...I’m a better man for it. Cause like Chris, I refused to tell myself that I needed help. It’s a real thing that will haunt you if you don’t get the help you need so that you can live a normal life. I watch American sniper all the time it’s one of my favorite movies of all time and as I sit here writing this I am watching it now on Philo on my roku tv my wife got for me. I’ve been a truck driver now for 26 yrs...I love it. REST IN PEACE CHRIS

“Why are we still here just to suffer?” PTSD in the military is one of the most crippling things involved with the military the war never ends for them it is unfortunate my prayers and best wishes to the men and women of the United States military and their families
