So basically he just said that "the sniper training was bullshit. Everything else was done pretty well." Video over in 10 seconds.

I don't think that those sniper training scenes were to show the training it self but rather the emotion and seriousness Chris had after the 9/11 attacks compared to the laid back attitude he had before.

That’s one of those “No shit” moments it’s Hollywood. I’m a US Marine and I see stuff in movies depicted wrong all the time. I have just learned to live with it.

This is what I took from the movie. I saw how PTSD creeps onto a soldier as he is exposed to combat. This movie is about PTSD yet, I have not heard anyone mention it, not even once.

Tony Scott was approached by a fighter pilot years after the filming of Top Gun. The fighter pilot proceeded to explain all the things that were inaccurate about the movie. Tony Scott simply explained that the movie was made for entertainment, and that he did not make it for fighter pilots, but for everyone else.

Dam people always respect the hell out of veterans but throw that all out the window once they start criticizing movies lol

I preferred the seals when they where silent. As a peacetime USN veteran I liked it when they kept the missions they where part of to themselves, of course my opinion means nothing to them but I'd like to see the teams go back to staying out of the public eye.

Really, that's it? You made a video just to tell us the training scene wasn't accurate? Not even elaborating more than just "that's not how it is."

Pointless video.

I agree. When I saw the movie the first time, and it got to where he was in sniper school, and the over-acting, corny instructor was talking about "this is our the space between heartbeats" I'm sure people could HEAR my eyes rolling.

To show respect to our navy seal veterans I hope they make a movie and show all their training and everything they learned. The world would love to see everything about our military, specially our enemies.

I saw the movie in the theatre back then and couldn´t believe he was nominated for the oscars. He was superficial, patriotic to a ridiculous amount and sometimes funny where he doesn´t wanted to be.

"who the fook is that guy???" to those that get it.

It's a movie. It's designed to sell tickets to movie buffs.

If you want a more realistic portrayal, go to the U.S. and join the Navy :)

Every time someone sees the scars, or the 20 year pin, or any sign i'm a vet and says "Thank you for your service" I Always say "it's nothing you would not have done in my place", because that's the way it is. I got a lot out of my service, including a LOT of college credits and some nice Medical and other training, and am definitely proud of the sweat and effort. Guarantee though i'm no "seal" or other SF type, if we get attacked, invaded, or just have "Domestic Terrorists" play at hurting this nation and it's People, I will disregard the Medical Disability and rejoin my teammates. It's about Us as a Nation, not some "Detail" that Hollywood got Wrong.
