A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ Youtube. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of Youtube I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on Youtube won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This Youtube channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)

What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different

This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

The woman sitting there with her mouth open was Mama Cass from the group the Mamas and Papas. This was Janis’ first big break at this concert.
Janis was an outcast in school in Port Arthur, Texas. She was bullied and made fun of and just had a few friends that used to get together and listen to a lot of old blues records. She was influenced by artists like Bessie Smith and Ma Rainey.

Musical history captured on film for eternity! Those shots of her feet get me EVERY time, she is singing with every bit of her body, right down to her toes. Momma Cass' face captures it all perfectly, one legend seeing the start of another. Two talented women gone far too soon!

That was Case Elliot of the Mamas and Papas in the audience that you commented on.

I’ve said it a hundred times and will say it a hundred more. Janis Joplin was and still is the best female vocalist ever! She just came along way before her time. I’ll say this again also....That’s just my opinion!

In 1970, Janis Joplin bought a headstone for the grave of her greatest influence Bessie Smith at the Mont Lawn Cemetery in Philadelphia. The blues singer's grave was unmarked until that time. R.I.P. Janis you left us way too soon.

This was 53 years ago. Every time I see this video I still get that "wow" feeling. So much passion and emotion behind her singing. I also love the band. I was too young to go to this concert but I envy those who were able to attend.

Janis sang a heartbreakingly beautiful version of "Little Girl Blue" on the Tom Jones Show; in a different groove, Janis singing "Cry Baby" will blow your hoodie off.

Her smile at the end though... Beautiful.

Judging from the comments below, this was a really important moment in modern music history. Joplin giving a truly memorable performance, watched and appreciated by Cass in the audience. So tragic that both those performers died so many years before their time.

1967- Monterey Pop Festival. I was there! She was profoundly influenced by the great Black blues singers of yore. She was raw and shocking in an era of pretty pop princesses. To see joyful Janis check her out singing Raise Your Hand with Tom Jones on his show.

With the possible exception of some Black blues singers like Big Mama Thornton (who wrote "Ball and Chain"), there really is nobody who can be considered in the same class as Janis. She was an original of unleashed, passionate musicality, a force of nature possessed of genius.

I have loved Janis since her first album. This still makes the hairs on my arms stand up every time.

I saw Janis this same year, 1967, when I was a 9 year old kid. She was playing for free in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and my dad took me and my friend. Great memory!

Oh Janis‼️. Unique and powerful! I had the privilege and pleasure of seeing her perform at the Avalon Ballroom in 1969. I was 19 years old. She blew the doors off the place and left us all changed. In person, in a very personal and open venue, we left not even having words to describe it. Never tire of listening to her. Her cover of Summertime is sublime. A must listen🎶🤟✌️
