I've been loving this game so much! I find it so much more fun than Hyrule Warriors tbh, it's far less stressful most of the time. Before, I'd have to worry about the amount of forts I held and run back and forth in a frenzied craze. Now I can search for Korok seeds without much fear about losing a story chapter lol, it's great!

I wasn’t really considering buying this but since I haven’t tried breath of the wild this and it looks pretty good so this is totally going on my wishlist!

Datamined info suggests Purah was either planned but scrapped, or is planned as DLC due to unused voice lines found in the game.

SPOILERS ABOUT THE STORY DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED/DON'T KNOW.



The OG/first hyrule warriors game wasn't canonically apart of the timeline, I just see this as a fun game with sure, a fanfictiony story but I don't mind it. It's a good fanfictiony story to me and I feel like it is a good turn. It would be boring if they just had everyone die at the end, it'd be too predictable. I feel like a lot of us just wanted to get to know the Champions more and that's what we got. What happened before Calamity hit was already clear in all the memories you can get in BOTW.

Zelda is having a hard time with her powers
Calamity kills everyone including the champions except for Link who's on the brink of death.
To have that all repeat would feel kind of lazy on Nintendo's part and it would definitely gain harsh reviews. The only thing I have to complain about the story is would be Link and Zelda's relationship. In BOTW, Zelda disliked Link but then ended up warming up to him and got to understand him more. That's what made Zelda awakening her power for Link more impactful. In Age of Calamity, they already seem like friends. It's hard to pinpoint whether Zelda has romantic feelings or not for Link in this game.

Personally i think that them saying botw2 is a sequel was just to hide the fact that this game was being made, and that age of calamity will be a prequel to botw2 and not botw, like a timeline split again.

To be fair, Dynasty Warriors spin-offs are never canon and are pretty much an excuse to see interactions between characters that canonically can't interact with each other
But it's a shame that it was advertised as Breath of the Wild prequel (especially since in the trailer they used the "you're ready to know what happened 100 years ago" dialogue, because it's NOT what happened 100 years ago, ignoring that the game doesn't even include it)
