Im a big believer that every man should know at least a few combos. Dont be that guy who says "i would do this, this, and this in a fight" but then when theyre in front of a bag they dont know what the hell to do. Be someone who at least knows what theyre gonna do in a fight

One slight tip coming from a life long martial artist, make sure your shoulder is packed, ie feel your lats engage, this will let you use your back, pelvic girdle and legs properly and deliver maximum power with minimal effort. Good video bud!

Having some self defense training and preparation is very important. But, what you said in the beginning about avoiding it in the first place is more important and often under emphasized.
Keep up the great content, sir.

All good advice. I’d add going to a boxing gym. Sparring can really make or break your fighting skill, and if you don’t regularly spar you might just freeze up during a fight. Thank you for promoting functional fitness, masculinity and Christ.

I've been self-practicing boxing the past year and relying on Youtube tutorials but this video made me realize that what I was practicing won't guarantee my survival in a fist fight, only in a ring. Hats off to you, brother, for the excellent video and knowledge!

Two of my friends who I have taught to throw a proper punch were able to defend themselves and it altered their life paths. One guy demolished his bully in front of everyone who was picking on him in highschool and it lowered his stress immensely. For any younger guys out there (I'm 31) PLEASE learn how to punch and be realistic. If you take Karate, make sure you get some realistic sparring in and know what to do if you get rushed. Also, adrenaline will make your arms feel like noodles: This is normal. Training wrestling where you can go a bit harder with your friends/dojo buddies will get your adrenaline up and you'll learn to control it.

One of my friends had his house broken into by a guy and instantly put him into a rear naked choke I taught him (this guy is a comedic frumpy dude) and managed to choke the guy out who mangled his door. I could go on for hours about this but suffice to say it's important to learn the basics. Don't be afraid of sparring. Gym bullies are rare and you're surrounded by people who can help you.

One last piece of advice from my dad which mirrors Scheereddzz advice: Make sure you get the first hit in.

In 5th grade i gave up from martial arts, because of fear and because i though my life was alright, nobody's gonna fight me, i dont need that, but i regretted that decision at 16 or 17.
And it turned out that i never know who i may meet.
Dang it
