I read a book that really helps me, now I know the secret how to learn to speak english quickly. The only thing that keeps us to still not learn to speak english is our mind. If you afraid to speak english because you think you will commit mistake, then sorry you will never learn to speak english. Trying to speak english doesn't mean to be perfect just like we learned in school. But speaking in english is to communicate, don't be afraid to make an error. Speak in english forget the "one correct answer" rule that school taught us, your study to communicate and not to impress your teacher. Your not in school anymore, use what ever you learned in reality. Just like me i never afraid if i have mistake in my sentences, im not native english speaker. So what im afraid? Im just a learner, means its natural to have a mistake. Just speak again and again in english, THE FACT IS.. IT IS BETTER TO TRY AND TRY AND MISTAKE AND TRY AGAIN... THAN NOTHING. So you know the answer why you didn't learn or progress, because of the wrong mindset. Be always positive, don't think of any bad things. Your focus is to learn. ❤

I’m just 14 years old and I am also an English speaker and I learned that by myself.
I’m from Angola and here it’s pretty hard to find a child like me who speaks English because in my country we only speak Portuguese
I appreciate so much your videos
You inspire me so much 🎉❤

I started learning English 2 years ago, but I’ve been speaking English since January of this year. This is really interesting, especially as 4 language after Turkic languages and Slavic languages

My weird strategy, when you are speaking imagine a white, big and extremely clean ball. Your mind will not translate, because you have that image in your mind

You take learning an instrument as an example. It is true that if you want to play an instrument better, you need time to practise. It can apply to learn a new language. The process may be frustrated but if you can overcome all difficulties, you can succeed. Thanks for you video.

I am a native English speaker, living in the US, but I am learning the Persian language. Farsi, to be specific. In my language adventure, I am finding that my searches for how to become more fluent in a language I am acquiring has brought me videos for people who are learning English. Since language is language, and I am struggling with the issue of translating in my head, I decided to watch this video.

Thank you so much for this! I will try to apply your methods to my practice of learning Persian! I subscribed instantly when I saw you playing guitar! I also play guitar and I've been comparing the process of learning a musical instrument to learning a language as well! One thing that I noticed is that I struggled to improve much with guitar as long as I kept thinking of myself as "learning to play". I started to play along with other musicians and felt overwhelmed by it, much like practicing to speak with people in my target language.

Once I changed my perspective to "I play guitar. I may not be great at it yet, but I am a guitarist" everything changed in my playing. That is where I am in my Persian... Wanting to stop thinking that I am "learning" Persian and just say "I speak Persian and I will continue to improve". Best wishes to you!

I purchased the fluent with Friends course two years ago, started learning continuously for 10 months and stopped when there's still 4 episodes to go, even though my English comprehension increased drastically, before the course I couldn't hear a thing when you guys speaking. But now I could understand ~95% of what you're saying. That's really amazing, isn't it? Thanks for the course and all the clips you guys've made!
