The sad thing is that some people just don’t care. Their tastebuds override their health.

I can remember seeing labels on steaks and butter with US packaging saying "grass feed."

I had to laugh questioning what else do you feed a cow? The answer was a shocker to me

Red #40 was introduced to replace Red #2, which was found to be carcinogenic among other concerns. It took less than two years to find similar problems with #40, but as there's never been a cheap alternative, it's still on the market.

100 of the us products are banned . The EU has one of the most strick regulations on food safety. In the US its money first morals / foodsafety last. In the EU its the other way around😊

One has to ask who the US government really serves when so many harmful additives are used min US food production. I think the European err on the side of caution is a far wiser decision and one that says people not profit matters most.

Too many peanut butters have fully- or partially hydrogenated oils, probably to make them easier to spread. Giving kids a head start on heart disease and and obesity doesn't seem to be a problem for the manufacturers.

It reminds me of an adage my dad used to use. "Everybody has to eat a peck of dirt." The idea of absolute safety in everything we consume is just a peculiar notion of the modern world. It's an illusion. We all have to consume some bad stuff. Consuming huge quantities of anything is bad but our bodies can handle bit of challenging substances.

Most of these foods taste like shit, but you can only know this if you had better and that is the problem in the US, where most people are raised on crap from infancy.

lot of things banned in UK can be brought in thru customs in small quantities as small presents from USA to relatives! And especially at christmas time or by shipping to relatives as a present and sending a whole case of something! Last year i sent relatives in Ireland three cases that each contained six of 4 pound tubs of creamy peanut butter! So total 18 tubs and one case of twelve 32 ounce plastic jars of strawberry jam and one case of twelve 32 ounce plastic jars of peach jam and they called us to say all six cartons arrived at their small pub with passed customs stickers from America and England and Ireland attached to boxes! The sixth box contained (was told banned) eight different kinds of boxes of flavored American crackers!
