American Foods That Are Banned In Other Countries

Weird History Food is gonna get your palate banned. Food is one of those things that immediately sets one country apart from another, and edible items or practices taken for granted in one country may in fact be banned somewhere else. For example, people eat many strange - and sometimes horrifying - foods in the US, some of which would raise eyebrows in almost any other nation.

I know someone that works in food sciences and said that the USA has the worst quality of food on earth

It seems that US food companies make it a challenge for themselves to make everything somehow unhealthy or toxic.

The FDA needs to broken up. They shouldn't control the food and drug trade in America. There needs to be a Food Safety council and a drug safety council. Both are separate and should be that way.

I am an American now living in Italy, and one of the things I first noticed at the local butcher, was chickens actually look like……well……chickens.

The American food industry sees consumers as another form of livestock…

Who in the world believes America had the “gold” standard for clean food? That’s laughable, at best

Absolutely. When I walk into Walmart, I wonder where the food is where real nutrition is because it certainly doesn’t come out of a box or a can!

This was such a brilliantly made video and I enjoyed it immensely!! What I find seriously disturbing as an American, is that our government not only allows citizens to be poisoned through our food, medications and water, but that there are federal agencies who are tasked with preventing small farmers from selling certain foods like raw or naturally processed milk and dairy products, organically grown meat, fruits and vegetables etc, to people who want to buy organic food, instead of the toxic and poisoned foods that are available in stores.. the USDA and FDA have literally managed to destroy so many different farmer's businesses and farms, including some Amish ones, and have even had law enforcement officers dump out several gallons of raw milk before the farmer even had the chance to argue his case in court.. their excuse for not wanting citizens to drink raw milk: "IT COULD CAUSE PEOPLE TO GET SICK!"

I'm from Serbia and I was very shocked when I realized that most americans rarely really cook. what I mean by "really cook" is what they call "from scratch". they make brownies out of a box, everything is either frozen or pre-made. we just don't do that here and we only have a few frozen or pre-made options

I make 98% of my food from scratch. Once you actually read the nutrition labels, you start to wonder why the USDA allows all of these additives and preservatives in our foods!! I’d actually prefer if they had to follow the same rules as are required in the EU!

As a ukrainian when I visited the US I noticed that everything I would buy on the fly from cafes etc, from croissants and coffee to burgers, was incredibly bland, barely had any taste at all. I even tried to add more salt - it didn’t help. I would compare it to eating cardboards.

Meanwhile I also lived in Poland for a long amount of time and the experience was a polar opposite, everything was so freaking delicious. And I include tiny places like street food carts with hot chocolate and the tiniest belgian waffle stands. Best hot chocolate and waffles I’ve ever had.

We have so much hyperactivity, autism and various behavior problems in children. I wonder if all these additives are to blame.

I had a friend who upon coming back to America after having lived and worked in Europe for years became very sick after she began to eat food back in the USA. She had to cut back and went feeling hungry for several weeks until her body finally began to develop a tolerance for whatever additional ingredients are in American food products. (And we wonder why we have higher rates of heart disease, ADHD, diabetes and cancer.)
