Ford Bronco Hard Top SCAM - Advance Fiberglass Concepts - APG Automotive Performance Group

If you are like many when the new Ford Bronco dropped the Hard top was a hard commodity to get. Aftermarket companies like Advance Fiberglass Concepts brought new designs to the table. Advanced dropped nice cad files and people dropped 5-8 thousand dollars to order the unseen product. 2 years later the facts that Advance partnered with APG on the tops and no one has received product came to light.

After spending $50, 000 on a bronco, I thought it was ridiculous for Advanced fiberglass concepts to charge somewhere near $10, 000 for a painted hardtop, i’m glad that I listened to myself and did not order one👍🏽👍🏽

I lost over $10, 000 for my hardtop. NO REFUNDS being given. I’m furious. I asked for my money back in June and was strung along. Horrible business practices.

I have a Mid-Runner level Bronco from APG and It is glorious.

APG did a fantastic job. No scamming no nothing. Just a great ride with incredible ride quality.

I did enquire about the hard top and the response was that tooling out of China was having all sorts of issues. I even saw the a batch that was sent over and a scan was done on them and then overlaid on the CAD data. The manufactured parts were way off.

Unsellable. The biggest mistake was trusting a Chinese manufacturer to deliver quality.

having to put down all of most of the money up front before the product is officially out just screams scam.

I paid $7200 in April 2022. I felt good until the last couple of months. I am so bummed and angry!

My one demand on my Bronco was the hardtop. No matter how much longer it took I wasn't settling for the soft top. These tops after market hardtops were stupid expensive to begin with. I hope everyone gets their money back.

In the 2DR crowd here but AFC should refund everyone their money. If it puts them out of business, then so be it. THEY are the ones who made the bad business decision NOT the consumer. Not to mention feeding them BS for 2 or more years. Very unethical. Loved their fenders and hoods, but now I will buy my glass from Cervini's.

I've been skeptical about APG ever since I laid eyes on their long travel kit. They moved the rear lower control arm mounting point but not the upper??? Now how is that long travel. That does not compute in my 4 link calculator. 😏

Never buy this stuff until someone with more money tries it out first lol!

I went with the hardtop from Turn Offroad and thoroughly enjoy it! I did not pay for my top until it was physically available and installed.

OK, outside of the fact that I think pre-ordering something that hasn't even been developed yet is nonsense... You have a company taking money from customers to give to another company to develop a product for them to sell to the customers they took money from, and there's no contract in place protecting anyones' interests? That's at best utter incompetence and at worst, malice.

Litebrite is full of it too ! If you know then you know!

I'm currently a victim of this. I paid back in dec 19, 2023. They told me April and kept pushing them date back. When i called, they told me it was due to labor shortages, etc. Now im stuck trying to get my $7, 084 back!

This hardtop is not being able to be delivered and your payments are at risk due to an agreement between AFC and their supplier. I have to file a dispute with my credit card to get back the $8k I paid for the hardtop!!

I spent a half hour reading the actual lawsuit paperwork. If it all is factual, this might ruin both companies. The owner of APG seems shady as hell, and something just not right in the first litebrite video. Advance played the hard tops off as made in America, when the lawsuit has china manufacturing all over it.

Noobie here. Thanks for making this video!!!! You saved me so much money!

I had no idea APG were like this.

Ironically i emailed APG a few days before discovering your video (wanting to purchase the wide body fenders after seeing litebrite's build). After watching this video i will not do business with them. Shame shame on them

There is still a lot of intentional mistruths in the ADV messaging. That patent stops nothing!! If they have any records at all of “prior art” before the patent was filed, it will be thrown out. Misrepresenting the source of innovation on a patent is enough to invalidate it! That could be as simple as some emails exchanged with sketches on the back of a napkin. Also I’d hazard a guess half the customers don’t want the slant back design! Find a new design. Most people wanted “quieter and higher quality” and maybe stronger. I wanted a one piece to reduce maintenance and wind noise and leak risk. Also even if the patent was granted, any lawsuits brought against ADV would have to demonstrate how they lost APG money and not the other way around. At this stage ADV could lose everything and if truly factually APGs fault the court would find that in the evidence at the end of the day. IMHO, ADV should produce a top, maybe without the slant, to try and save their reputation and business.

Is APG planning on showing their face at SEMA? I sure hope you journalists show your backbone to them in person. Don’t let this be a memory come November. Confront them at every show you find them at.

I just saw LiteBrite got their bronco fully done up from APG. They even mentioned their (APG) new hardtop that was up and coming. From what LiteBrite showcased, their products seem very well engineered and thought out especially with their carbon fiber front/rear fenders.

AFC is in trouble on this as they are the point of sale, and therefore on the hook to the customers. They can shift blame all they want but it was their bad business decisions and seemingly poor contract negotiations and oversight that put them in the position with their partners.
If I was out money on this, I would be after AFC alone and they can cross claim their partners in the lawsuit if they wish (and as they should).

They are both probably in for a rough time if they can’t make customers whole.

There is a company that I have dealt with recently called Turn off Road I know nothing about their hardtop but they are offering a hard top now and they seem to be nice folks there at least the people I’ve dealt with ordering a few of their products. Thanks for this info.
