Ford Bronco Top Canceled. Customers Scammed?

The Ford Bronco hardtop that many paid thousa is for has been canceled. Was this a scam that will cost buyers thousands of dollars?

Ford has let their designs slip through their fingers before. I saw it happen well over 30 years ago. It ended up that the supplier had to pay the royalty . What a happy family we were.

Lots of history to this story. Check out the bronco 6G forum. ADV made promises to deliver and took orders right up to the day they released their statement saying they got screwed and now the customer is getting screwed. First they promised delivery of a US made top in 12 weeks. Then it kept getting delayed due to a rubber supplier delay. Then it came out that it’s not US made. Then customers were told they’d essentially have to assemble it themselves! This means rubber seals and all- which means no warranty coverage essentially. Then just delay after delay after delay. All this after customers put up 100% of the cost UPFRONT after seeing a CAD drawing. That was the only red flag folks should have needed. But, after the constant excuses and delays, I cannot fathom how every customer didn’t ask for a refund. Those that waited? Out of $7k. It’s a bad situation and I feel for these folks. At the same time- the writing was on the wall. Hopefully APG steps up with tops for these folks but I’m betting it won’t happen.

The top patent is one of the ‘new” design patents that the office started to allow a few years ago. Before that everything else was a utility patent ie, “what does it do” rather than “what does it look like.

Thoughts on ford explorer 2017-Current ? Heard the transmission is not so good
