Police are investigating a high-tech crime that struck one man in West Baltimore--a crime that seems to be gaining traction with some thieves.

At first, Anthony Ross was confused about what happened. "None of the windows (on my vehicle were) busted out and none of the doors are damaged," said Ross. Then he realized his luxury-filled 2022 Ford Bronco had been broken in--quickly, quietly.

It’s crazy you pay all that money for these cars and there’s not even technology to prevent people from cloning the key this is exactly why I have got me a motorcycle now and I’ll park it inside my apartment you will not steal it from me after I have to pay all that money for a car and the note in Insurance and this end of that problem solved

This type of thing was an issue years ago when car tech was booming. Seems like they finessed the codes or transmission. Terrible but less violent robbery.

Apparently they never heard of RFID pouches for the key fobs. Also, if you like not having your stuff stolen maybe you should move to a state where you can carry a gun not live in crappy maryland.

It never fails when will they learn... Stop leaving your valuables in your car. You are asking for them to steal your stuff. It's bad enough that they hacked your car. They could have stole it to with all your things in it. Be thankful you still have a car. Take your valuables with you when you park your car regardless of whether it is near your home. Cameras may make you feel safe but your not if someone steals your identity and walks around continuously committing crime now pretending to be you.

Maybe ppl should start putting their key fob in non reading material like you would keep your EZ Pass if not in use or like the have the wallets that protects your cards from being scanned.
