To anyone interested. This car was sold for $13, 200 during Mecum Kissimmee 2023. The vehicle was never marked by Mecum as a real deal GT-H, but as a replica.

I owned a two location dealership and still amazed how dealers will scam dealers.

The best way not to get scammed is to read the car description which says it's a replica or tribute and ignore youtubers.

There should also be a numbered plate on the dash.

I worked for Hertz when these came out. Even as a manager I wasn't allowed to touch one.
I believe the traction control button also was rendered useless.
They went for $250/day with a 25 mile limit.

Well the cars I buy at auction aren't fakes. Nobody tries to fake a rusty impala!

The Shelby GT-H also had a Ford Racing suspension package installed with a strut tower brace and no engine cover.

That car isn’t even trying to be a fake. It’s missing SEVERAL key points that would make it a GT-H. I think the owner just liked the Shelby sticker.

I'm surprised Mecum did not reject that car and send it back. I am a driver for them and I have seen lots of cars get sent back to the owner cuz the description did not match the actual car. Mecum auction tries very hard to make sure people do not get scammed

People should be ridiculed relentlessly for building “tributes” to muscle cars that don’t have any muscle.

Well they should be identified by the Vin that should have all the info you need.

Suction house is responsible if they sell you a fake. You pay them high fees to make sure fakes are not sold.

I remember back in 1985 when Chevy came out with the IROCZ CAMARO..I owned a 1986 IROCZ with the last of the carburated 350V8 people would go to the dealerships & buy the door IROCZ Decal & try to pass off a Z28 as a REAL IROCZ..

This car is from Kenny & Marilyn Newcombe’s mustang collection. They sold roughly $700k worth of mustangs. By the way mecum doesn’t guarantee the cars authenticity..they’ve states that it’s no possible to authenticate each car that comes thru their auction. That’s why it’s a very good decision to smarten up yourself on a car that you may potentially buy from anywhere.
