I live in South Africa, and I used to listen to a Christian radio station which featured sermons and preaching by MacArthur as well as James white. I must say that both if them are slimy peddlars of falsehood masquerading as genuine charitable teaching

I am a Lutheran and i find myself in agreement with 90% of Roman Catholic theology, certainly far more so than other protestant denominations. Prior to listening to this i didnt know the distinction betwen Assumption vs Ascension that is made in this case. Knowing this now I understand and accept it especially when explained alongside the idea of Mary as the ark of the new covenant which I already understood and accepted. In context of Mary as Queen of Heaven, I noticed in the books of Chronicles, whenever a king was named, it also immediately named the king’s mother as well. And I forget who but one king died with no children to take the throne, so his mother became Queen.

Coming from a former CoC member. The protestant idea of "worship" is so low, they look at Catholic's reverence for Mary and call it worship.

This was SO helpful! Thank you! My first year celebrating this feast as a Protestant who will enter into full communion with the Catholic Church this coming Easter. This is not something I’ve dug into mainly based on your last argument. If the Church has gotten it right on all of the other dogmas and has been given the authority to lead us into all truth, then I have just believed Mary’s Assumption to be true because the Church says.
