"God is not the God of the dead, but of the living"

None of the saints are dead. They are alive in heaven. As per Matthew 22:32.

Mary and the saints aren't dead; they are fully alive in Heaven with Christ.

I think I’ll stick with the one true apostolic Church who is 1500 years older than any other Protestant denomination.

The Virgin Mother and the Holy Saints aren't dead, they have Eternal Life with God in Heaven.

We don’t believe the saints are dead. We believe they are more alive than we are because they are in heaven.

If I thought the Saints were dead I would not be a Christian. Christians have always believed that the Church is one body, and that body is not necrotic, it’s very much alive because it’s the body of Christ.

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; My spirit rejoices in God my savior. For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.

Luke 1:46-55

If you think Mary is "dead" you have denied Jesus words that "He who believes in Me shall live, though he dies, but shall have life everlasting"

Mother Mary and the Saints aren’t dead. The term “to pray” originally meant “to ask”, until it’s meaning got changed over time. When you hear a Catholic “praying” to Mary, they are simply asking for her intersection or asking for her prayers. Same goes for the Saints. Hope this helped.

I used to think the same but… I asked St. Anne and the Virgin Mary to pray for me, that I may be healed and have a child. I had uncontrollable seizures after an endometriosis surgery where I was told I would probably not be able to have children. I prayed the rosary every night and promised that if Our Lady prayed to her Son for me that I would dedicate my child to loving the Lord. I miraculously survived after weeks in ICU for the seizures where I saw Mary clothed in white light!!!! Three months later my husband and I were pregnant with our beautiful miracle and I have been seizure free for over 10 years!! Her middle name is Lily in honor of the purity of Our Mother and her prayers.

It was through Mary asking Jesus for a miracle that He revealed Himself at the Wedding at Cana! Jesus honors His mother by granting her prayers. Not everyone has righteous people to pray for them, that is what the saints are. They are the righteous in Heaven who will pray for us continuously. God bless!! ❤️🙏

Sir, if you personally do not believe the Virgin Mary and the Saints are alive in heaven with Jesus, then don't pray to them. Please do not misrepresent my religion and call it spiritualism because we DO BELIEVE they are alive in heaven with Jesus Christ. Thank you.

Because Protestants take out the book, 2 Maccabees, that talks about praying for the dead. Just as Martin Luther took out the Epistle of James because it says “faith without works is dead”. Basically if anything disagrees with your presuppositions you just ignore or remove the text. This is not actions of people who seek truth.

God is the God of the living and not the dead. We are NOT praying to the dead. We are praying to our living brothers and sisters who are just as much a part of the Church (the body of Christ) as we are. -Not Roman Catholic, I am an Orthodox Christian.
