How The Military Would Divide During A Civil War

preview_player
Показать описание
If the United States were to find itself in a second civil war between republicans and democrats, conservatives and liberals, right-wing and left-wing, the federal military would almost certainly find itself divided between not just political factions, but also regional loyalties, as certain states in rebellion may come under heavy attack by the federal government. A 2nd American civil war would not be so clean cut, and prove very factionally messy regardless of what factions emerge.

We're no strangers to love

You know the rules and so do I

A full commitment's what I'm thinking of

You wouldn't get this from any other guy

If you’ve ever served or know military, most of them would abandon the government and go home to protect their family

Wait…honoring their oath to the Constitution doesn’t automatically imply defending the government. Moreover, that oath is explicit in rejecting unconstitutional orders given by government.

The Constitution defines the COUNTRY; not the government.

The idea that the government upholds the constitution is laughable

It may not even be just political motivation, many service members would probably be focused on protecting/evacuating their family and will just flee to wherever they go.

Backing the feds is not Backing the constitution

Just because you fight for the federal government does not mean you've are fighting for the Constitution. I say this as a former Marine

It definitely would be more complicated. There is no Mason Dixon Line; to mark distinction between opposite sides.

Whichever faction goes against California gets my support.

If anyone wants to know what the next American Civil War is going to look like, I suggest you start reading up on the Guatemalan Civil War, which was a Cold War-era civil war fought down largely ethnic/cultural lines that also just so happened to be Urban vs Rural.

A lot of Americans seem eager for this to happen 💀

In an all out civil war the vast majority of the military would split up in to different factions.

Anyone in the military or that has been in for any military can tell you that 99% of soldiers do not fight for the government, but for their homes. Soldiers would most likely side with whatever faction their home and family is in.

“Remain loyal to federal government, upholding their duty to protect the constitution”

If there is a second civil war, the government will no longer be on the side of the constitution. The people fighting the government would be.

But thats why soldiers are deployed away from their home state and one state never has a mahority .

Maybe you can say National Guard could easily rebel.

The government has been off the constitutions leash for at least 100 years.

I think the right would get most of the military, cuz most people who volunteer for the army come from more conservative people.

Members of the military took an oath to protect the constitution. The civilian army employed by the 3 letter federal agencies did not. It's not hard to see who will be foes of the citizens.

I’ve spoken to multiple soldiers that say they would happily rebel if Texas tried to break away. XD

I believe a large number of the Active military would stay loyal to the government while the National Guards would be more likely to go where their states went. I was Active for many years and we were much more loyal to the Constitution then our homes.
