That intro "music" was so you can get stressed out and test in real time what the professor said.

I'm a fireman and medic for about 12 years and this is a technique we use to reduce stress in fires or in life threatening situations where we are trapped or potentially high risk operations in general. It is also something I use along with trying to induce vasovagal maneuver (or response) for patients experiencing supraventricular tachycardia. I genuinely love this guy. He's the most informed and knowledgeable intellectual I've ever seen. He speaks so precisely and with so much information and he's providing such a life changing platform to so many for free. Incredible.

I've been practising this breathing method with a young child who's a mild anxiety. For her, it was kind of a funny play. Now she's in a better condition I'm happy to say.

I'm digging the intro Doc. I think doing clips is a great move for the channel as well. Thanks for what you're doing here.

The opening affected my heart rate. Stress-inducing. Inhale/exhale is excellent. This should be taught starting in elementary school. Thanks

Professor Huberman, thank you for being a real mental health hero for the masses. You really inspire me to think in ways I dismissed from abandoning academics early in life and now find inspiration in knowing it's never to late to take this type of study seriously. To become a better Man than I was before. 🤙🏼

The anticipation of Dr.'s podcasts raises dopamine levels for sure. This intro raises the cortisol level (state of alertness) so we could pay attention to the message.

Dr.'s longer episodes are tremendously are changing my life for better and I have been really enjoying his "audience" of positively charged, polite and grateful people.

It's pretty hard to control stress with that intro, you are inducing us to test the teaching as soon as we listen it, lol

Hey andrew it's amazing how the body knows what to do on its own subconsciously in certain situations. I am forever indebted to give back to society for discovering you. I consider you one of my mentor's. I will pass on the torch. Keep it coming! God bless!

these separated videos is absolutely a great idea .

Thank you for this video. Great explanation. My takeaways: inhaling speeds the heart rate up; exhaling slows the heart rate down. To be more alert, inhale more. To calm down, make your exhales slightly longer than your inhales.

More of these short clips please! I need something beyond the 1.5h podcast to keep me neuroscience-engaged from episode to episode, great refreshers especially with applicable and real-time tools. Also that intro is flawless!
