0:49 No problem, you're one of the few YouTubers I'm proud to support!

Nobara is my personal favourite on this list. It's basically Fedora done easy. I do like Garuda, but I found Nobara/Fedora runs better on my older laptop.

Garuda gave me some issues during installation of software from that post-installation tool. Selecting some software caused the entire installation of the software to fail. It also has b=the issue of not allowing me to edit my network settings.

Gnome was my first desktop, back in 2005, used Ubuntus Unity for a year in 2013-2014, changed to KDE with Manjaro, in 2015, Garuda KDE last year, this year Arch KDE, I like gnome simplicity, but I love Dolphin, I like it more to manage lots of files, specially pictures and videos.
Same with Kate, Okular, and the customization.

23:32 Not once, not twice, but FIVE TIMES they've let their SSL certificates expire. Unacceptable.

Garuda is my personal favrote from this list ... as it's easy and fast to get working especially for new users + lazy people like me that want to get to playing fast without customizing a thing 🤣 awesome video as always 🥰

KDE is a better desktop overall, but I have been using GNOME for over half a year as my main desktop, and its been fine. I like that its minimal and stays out of the way. I don't want to use the desktop, I want to run my apps and games. Besides a file manager, and terminal, I just use it to launch apps and don't want to see it.

NobaraOS and PopOS are my personal favorites. But with PopOS going with their down desktop manager and their own display with HDR and fractional scaling I think that would win out.

20:02 Unlike Microshaft putting asinine limits on upgrades to Windows 11 in terms of CPU, and crApple with lockouts on their silicon, I agree. GNU/Linux really can be fine with as little as 2 GB of RAM, especially with LXQt or simple window managers.

I mean, Linus Torvalds is only NOW discussing ending support for Intel 486 CPUs. I mean, I think it got enough support given when it came out in 1989; if you're still using one, I think it's time for an upgrade. 😂

12:25 Wait, for beginner users, should they just disable the root account and use sudo instead? (I would just be worried if they start using their computer as root and then break their OS by accident.)

In Fedora, the equivalent of the AUR is COPR. RPM Fusion is just non-free stuff from Fedora.

A good idea for a video would be EndeavourOS vs Garuda Linux.

Windows Is what you see is what you get. Linux is what you download is what you see. You got choice and it makes it more enjoyable from beginner to expert your choices are there for you.

18:24 I know they don't "technically" support this, but couldn't you just use the KDE lite version of Garuda Linux?

*Oh, BuT mAcOs Is FiNe WiTh 8 Gb Of RaM.*

Um, no it's not. The reason it seems fine was due to swapping from a soldered SSD. That proves:
1. 8 GB of is not enough. I've seen macOS cold boot take 4 GB of RAM on an M1 Max MacBook Pro with every startup app disabled. Once Chrome is opened with a few tabs, the swapping starts. So 8 GB really isn't enough for macOS. And besides...
2. It will kill the SSD faster. SSDs don't last forever, they have a limited number of read/write cycles. And because that SSD is soldered, once it goes, unless you get an ENTIRE MOTHERBOARD REPLACEMENT, congratulations, you now have a brick.

GNU/Linux really can be fine with as little as 2 GB of RAM, especially with LXQt or simple window managers. I mean, Linus Torvalds is only NOW discussing ending support for Intel 486 CPUs. I mean, I think it got enough support; if you're still using one, I think it's time for an upgrade. 😂

I bounced form Fedora to EndevourOS to try GNOME on something archbased in within 2 days I went scrambling back to Fedora, it just does GNOME perfectly.

I use Fedora ever since the Red Hat in a box days, I mainly research the new releases and use a stable one for about 3 or 4 years. With flathub your software updates and you keep the core os and settings are untouched. My work flow cannot have downtime. Why is Gnome 4x not going to 4 well the disaster of 2 to 3 cut there usage in half and splittered the commuity like no other various forms of 2 and 3. I use apps so my os needs to work in the background not getting in the way of work or distractions like adds. All these changes now will go and form the bases of Gnome 4 which is shaping up to be awesome.

Fedora is excellent. I also think you should have put Ubuntu, in there. Who else than Ubuntu gives desktop icons, desktop shortcuts?
