“Clean beauty” does not have a regulated definition. In fact, foundation makeup products often include long labels with names only a chemist would understand. Until now.

From coconut alkanes to iron oxides, cosmetic chemist Kelly Dobos dissects the ingredients in Ilia’s True Skin Serum foundation and explains how the makeup gets its color, consistency and “clean beauty” branding.

Cameraperson missed focus in the lab shots... great info, but the visuals are distracting because of the soft focus. They fixed it for a split second near the very end.

I am looking for a video explaining cosmetic safety. It's really hard to find. Many brands are marketed as "safe brands". I'm wondering if all cosmetics are safe or if some are better than others. Is it worth spending more money? Are mineral foundations necessarily safer?
