Avoid 'dirty ingredients' just in case? Pt 1

Clean beauty is far more dangerous than the 'dangerous ingredients' they complain about. The lack of preservatives in clean beauty stuff is just asking for disaster

I’ve been seeing so many people complaining that the Kosas concealer is going bad on them so much quicker than other brands and it’s been suggested that it’s because it has no preservatives to be “clean beauty”.

I was made to be overly cautious about the ingredients in my skincare by "clean beauty" experts and advocates. it was so tiring. and it made me feel "smarter" as if I actually had more idea than the chemists and professionals who worked on those skincare products lmao. I realized that while some companies might not think too highly of the customers, not all things in the world are malicious.

What's more likely: that all of those brands using "dirty" ingredients haven't thoroughly tested their products and don't care if their customers get sick, or that select "clean" brands are using that label as a marketing tool? I'm okay trusting scientists over the EWG and trendy brand marketing on this one.

Kosas Cosmetics is proof that "clean" isn't doing you any favours in the long run. Lip liners and bronzers which are already rancid when you buy them because they lack a preservative system ain't it.

Yo for real though smell your “clean” beauty stuff before you use it. They do NOT last as long as the other brands.

My food microbiology prof said that the recent trend of using less and less antimicrobial agents in foods is leading to greater difficulty in controlling pathogenic microbes in food and spoilage. Be careful out there y'all, food pathogens are no fucking joke.

Can you please do a video on animal testing? If that’s something you do know about. I’ve never been able to get a real answer about it and the one I did get was, “Animal testing isn’t really as common as people think.”

I had a friend who had a recurrent eye infection, even after having the infection cultured, and targeting it with multiple rounds of antibiotics. Luckily she had a doctor who went through everything with her and they figured out her eyeliner was the culprit. And every time she put on the eyeliner she was reinfecting herself. So she tossed all of her eye products that couldn't be disinfected, and it cleared up. Preservatives are extremely important, especially in sensitive areas like your eyes. I know we don't want to put anything irritating near sensitive areas, but having an infection is much more dangerous.

Lolz they just replace it with other ingredients that's made in the same exact same plant.
My husband's plant makes organic pesticides. They make lots of cosmetic ingredients too

People don’t realize all this “avoid these ingredients they’re toxic” is just more fear mongering and shows people can’t think for themselves tbh

I think what's also important to mention (I didn't notice you mentioning this in the video) is that, disregarding the fact that "clean beauty" is a scam, just because something is certified as "clean" doesn't mean it actually is according to their BS standards. For example there's many "clean" products certified by EWG, but did you know that you can BUY the certification??! You can have a product with parabens (the horror!) and STILL have it certified by EWG (which treats parabens like spawns of Satan), simply because you paid for it!
