It does work. I am 68 and tried a low dose (2 mg) without any benefit, then high dose, (10 mg)which made me feel sick. Finally i am happy that 5 mg has solved my long term insomnia. I dont sleep dead, i still get up a few times, but i MAINLY sleep. Thank GOODNESS.

65 YOF here.. I have been taking melatonin 5mg for a year. No side effects, absolutely works for me. I take sublingual, 1 hour before sleep. Tried the 10mg, extended release to help me stay asleep but kept waking up mid sleep. 5mg seems my wheelhouse.

I’m a 75 year old female. For a year now I’ve been enjoying two 5 mg Melatonin Gummies just as I go to bed! What a treat! I fall asleep relatively quickly and sleep for 4 hours, get up, then go right back to sleep for another 3 hours. I buy the generic brand, and so what if the label is incorrect about how much real Melatonin is in those gummies….it’s working for me, and it’s affordable.

Critical Care Nurse here. Thank you for your insights about this hormone.

Big tip I learned for morning sleepiness after taking Melatonin- Get outside for sun exposure as early as possible. It wakes me up and I seem to sleep better that night when I do.

I find Melatonin helps when I take it 2 hours before bed along with doing other sleep hygiene.

Turning off all screens and lights as early as possible has been a game changer for me. I find I am asleep by 9pm and awake by 5.

60 yrs old. Take 3%. It doesn't help me fall asleep, but helps keep me asleep. Very groggy in the mornings. Vivid dreams.

I took it on and off for the through the 1990s to mid-2000. I found the recommended dosage and the time to take it has changed dramatically over the years. I never saw any improvement in my sleep - either falling asleep, staying asleep, of feeling rested. The last form I took was the time-released. Saw a study stating even name brand supplements had false claims of dosage/ingredients, and finally said "enough". I decided to follow the "sleep hygiene" guidance I had been teaching my patients (mental health):
Go to bed/awaken at the same time 7 days a week. Get lots of light/sun during the day, turn down lights starting at 7pm, no TV, computers, phones, i.e, blue lights 1 hour before going to sleep. Use only night lights - never turn on a light if you must get out of bed. Cold, dark room. If you are hot in bed, less/no clothes, fewer blankets. This works for me. I have not needed an alarm to wake up since 2010.

64 year old here. I’ve taken Melatonin for over 30 years. I had a major health crisis at that time and the hospital had me on sleeping tablets. My family doctor suggested Melatonin because he knew I didn’t want to take sleeping meds and we were about to travel to Asia for a holiday and could buy a supply there as it wasn’t available in Australia at that time. Over the years I’ve slowly increased up to 10mg. I sleep very well, have very few dreams and usually don’t remember them upon waking. As soon as I open the shutters in the morning and expose my eyes to sunlight all signs of sleepiness disappear. I have noticed no side effects.

I am so grateful I found you guys. Not only are your videos informative., y’all are highly entertaining. I had no clue that doctors could be funny. I just turned 71. Y’all are the first I’ve met. What IS that all about???

I started taking melatonin 5mg at age 75, it worked well and I increased dose slowly to 20mg. It did cause me to have dreams that I remembered and that was nice. After a while when I went for a checkup, my blood pressure had gone way up 160/80. My doc gave another BP Med and that didn’t help. Finally I did my research and found that melatonin does nullify certain BP meds. I was taking losartan ( an ARB). My Doc was unaware of this side effect! Be careful when starting any new supplements or drugs and be on the alert to any changes to your health. Melatonin is generally safe for healthy people even in larger doses.

I'm a 64 yr old female. I've recently started taking melatonin 3mg and it helps me to have a solid night's sleep. I used to take zoplicone but decided with my Dr to get off of it. So far so good.

I'm student in high school taking melatonin regularly to get some sleep. I do fall asleep, but my performance at school has been getting lower and my reaction is also getting pretty slow too. I think this video has helped me realize that melatonin might be messing with my performance! Thank you so much!

As an athlete with late night training sessions it 100% works with major benefits (deeper sleep, less middle of the night waking, overall better recovery, and eliminated my daytime energy crashes (less sleepiness/grogginess the next day) I take 10mg slow release blend (sleep3 by nature bounty) 1 hour before my sleep time, and optionally an additional 3mg instant release right before I sleep or during my first wake up (2-3 hours in). I've exhausted every other hack and option for improving sleep (blue light blocking glasses, wind down/massage, last meal 5 hours before bed, perfect clean diet, CO2 level under 700-800ppm ect), but melatonin is what finally helped me the most.
