$10 Ear Cleaning in India shocked me 🇮🇳

Upon arriving, I had a man ask me if I wanted an ear cleaning. I nervously agreed and spent about 10-15 minutes getting an ear cleaning that in hindsight was very sketchy. This procedure is very risky after finding out more about the risks after I had it done.

I availed this ear cleaning service for just 30 rupees at the same station, but it seems the man scammed you because you're a foreigner. I'm shocked that he charged you 800 rupees for both ears. This is unacceptable, and India really needs to change this behavior of scamming foreigners.

I would never ever allow someone to jeopardize my health or hearing by letting them put a chemical in my ear. I am not even convinced I would allow the cleaning to be done, its so risky with zero recourse if he does something wrong. Imagine paying thousands of dollars to go to Inida and being miserable the entire trip because some guy on the street damaged your inner ear. Then imagine those damages being life long. No thanks.
