What is an Ion?

This chemistry video tutorial explains what exactly is an ion. An ion is a particle with unequal numbers of electrons and protons. Atoms have equal numbers of protons and electrons and are therefore electrically neutral. Ions with more protons than electrons are positively charged and are called cations. Negatively charged ions are called anions and more electrons than protons. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems that test your knowledge on ions.

OMG, I can't believe how much info you have on this channel or how well it's structured...It is EVERYTHING!!!!

I have seen good channels before, but they always end up with something missing for me. I was so worried I wouldn't find everything I need on here, because I have exams coming up! I really love chemistry but I have been finding it so frustrating as class hasn't always been easy. Some teachers I swear can't explain stuff so easily, the class sizes are huge and then we switch teachers every year. You haven't disappointed. I know I can get that higher grade now, maybe the highest! I will not be frustrated by not being able to understand everything that I need to and I will be able to really get to grips with a subject that is turning into a hobby. #Geek Thanks a lot.
