I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 85K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% per year in dividend returns. Any advice?

I’ve been thinking about setting up a solid ETF portfolio for long-term investing. Any ideas on what could be the best combination?

Nice split into 4 segments 🎉 I split my portfolio in just 3 segments: (1) *GROWTH.* Single tech stocks (blue chips like AAPL or MSFT) as well as index etf (like SPY or QQQM). (2) *DEFENSE.* Single stocks (e.g. BRK.B) and etfs (e.g. SCHD) counterbalancing (1). (3) *INCOME.* Several cef (like ASGI, IGR, XFLT...) and few etf with options overlay (like SVOL, SPYI...) to pay my monthly bills.
The split works well for me since 2022.

What about the overlap of the ETFs for each investor category. Isn't that a problem?

VTI and VOO overlaps 85 percent. Why do you need both in the list. You can put it in VXF. For diversification into mid and small caps

I’ve got a couple good ETFs in my portfolio and I’m up 47%. I’m also well positioned with good blue chip companies and A.I stocks. I will buy $200K worth of Plantir soon, some experts say it's the next Nvidia. Hoping to retire comfortably in 5 years but I know crisis is inevitable.

What do you think about SPYI for income ETF? Thanks

Thanks for your insightful guidance, yet I fail to understand the difference between INCOME etfs, and DIVIDEND etfs, since the idea behind both of them is recieving regular income.

That 1.16% expense ratio is nuts. It's the price you pay for such a high yield. Personally, I wouldn't touch SVOL. There are much better options with a far lower expense ratio. I don't consider anything that has a ratio of higher than .06

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Natalie Strayer
