Having served in the Marine Corps and Army, plus my wife and son having served in the Navy, I've learned something. Each branch of service is the best at what they do.

Entered the USN as a seaman recruit (E-1) in 1976. Honorably discharged as an OS2 (E-5) in 1980. Operations Specialist was the best sea going rate in the USN, but a horrible rate in port, unless one likes walking around ‘combat’ with a foxtail in hand trying to look busy. And one small correction, at sea the navy provides ‘midrats’ at midnight each night (unless the USN has changed that). Sometimes they were hot and at others, PB&J sandwiches with chips was the meal. Coming off a 6 hour port and starboard watch, ‘midrats’ always seemed to hit the spot.

Army and Navy have the most skill trades out of all the branches of the military unless you want to be a cop or correctional officer those combat rates are only good for combat yes we need them and love them but unfortunately you can't fight forever you got to have a skill trade when you retire or some other form of training. Say you do 20 years at 20 get out if you never took up a trade you'll only going to get a job in law enforcement or work for academia as a contractor good money but like I said you can't fight forever have a backup plan or save enough money to retire early after your service.

Hey the Navy may sound lame and low speed but in all honesty its a great time. Just make sure you pick the right job for you and not what the recruiter wants you to be!

Awesome video. I’m in the process to direct commission as a 65 Delta in the Army but I was really considering the Navy. Recruiter told me new grads usually don’t get to go greenside for their 1st deployment so I picked Army.

Navy works harder than any other branch. They are always working at sea. As Marines, we felt bad for them.

You know what the “Moral Standards” are? They ask you “Have you ever smoked pot” my friend said yes, so he wasn’t able to go into the program he wanted, I said “No” so they we’re going to send me to Nuclear Submarine School. I don’t recommend lying, but COME ON, what a ridiculous test of character
