This is where what appears to be constructive criticism is actually destructive criticism. It contradicts their point of view without there being anything different done on your part.

Looking back, this evidently was always premeditated as if it were some master plan of theirs all along. It's not that they told me that I was wanting to hear as much as they were flat out manipulating me with 20/20 hindsight. Because the 180 that they pulled just doesn't add up! If nothing else, it contradicts their past that they claimed to have also shared similar experiences in. It was like they were doing a contest almost of how they would be a more ideal version of myself or how the allegedly had done something better than I had to deal with the situation that I was venting to them about in my life that nothing to do with them in it.
