After seeing Xiangling appear on a banner once again, I decided to make a video adressing the inconsistency of 4-star rate-ups in Genshin. There is so much wrong with the 4-star system in this game, yet it could easily be fixed.

When Wanderer was first released I had about 350 pulls saved because he is one of my favorite characters and since he needs faruzan to work well I was pretty confident that this amount would be enough to get a decent chunk of her cons as well (in my dream of dreams I dared be optimistic for even a c6). In the end I got c3 wanderer and can we guess how many faruzans. because the answer is one. and that one towards the final pulls. absolutely ridiculous

I hope they can have a 4-star selector feature in their permanent banner or any banner, because there are already many 4-star characters, so it's very difficult to get the characters you want.

There's a JP streamer who whaled on Yoimiya's and Raiden's banner just for C6 Chevreuse. All it took him was 5 5*s, 59, 680 primogems, and his mentality.

His chat was spamming シュヴLOSE every time he didn't get Chevy. Literally he pulled a Diluc with 2 Bennys and a Sara in just a 10 pull.

The 4 star Paradox is real, I had to go for c1 Wanderer for c6 Faruzan (I already had c5 before i even started pulling). I went 145 pulls without a single damn Faruzan. 145.

It feels like they purposely code this into the game. “Oh the entire player base wants Kaveh? Let’s rig the banner into giving you a to get him! We want our money!”

Usually I pull on standard and get the 4 star I needed after a while. That’s how I got Heizou

I think the reason why they haven’t done this already is as simple as— they want their money and encourage you to spend it to get even a singular copy of a 4 star

i got 8 ninguangs, 3 kaves and 0 kiraras this banner, the summer event gave me the only kirara copy so far

Genshin favors the 1.0 4 stars I've noticed. and I am getting sick of it. They're very good 4stars. but Hoyoverse needs to spread the attention a bit more.

Also Hoyoverse please put more 4 stars in the shop. We should every 4 star from the 1.0 and 2.0 patches in the shop (imo)

8:47 there is a reason. The 4 stars are used to increase the value of the banners. A Kokomi banner with Xingque and Fischl is much better than with Kirara and Mika. It's a very dirty tactic considering how many 4 stars are in the game and how slowly they re run because of that but Hoyo is a very greedy company, especially the Genshin team, so it's not a surprise they haven't added any new 4 stars to shop

It became evident a long time ago, back when Kirara was first released that 4 star characters are the real trap. I don’t care about 4 stars anymore. Only pull for the 5 star you want and pretend 4 stars don’t exist, simple as that.

2:39 well, no. chronicle banner actually allows to obtain 4stars in its pool with a much higher chance than in standard banner. For last chronicle there were only mondstadt characters and mondstadt weapons, including kaeya-amber-lisa.
The only thing I wish for is that they would put chronicle at least twice a year. But right now it seems like it would be a X.5 special banner.
