Follow along to these stretches to get a flexible back! Improving back flexibility will help you get your chest stand, backbend, needle and much more. This routine is perfect for anyone whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced at flexibility. For fast results, I recommend following along daily or at least 3 times a week.

This is your second 2021 summer stretch challenge! I challenge you to do this routine daily for 20 days to see how much your back flexibility improves!

To share your results use #annamcnultychallenge and tag me on Instagram or TikTok! Depending on your starting point I cannot guarantee a full backbend, chin stand etc. after the 20 days but you should definitely see an improvement ♡ If needed feel free to modify the stretches or take a rest day during the challenge.

Anna, I can’t even express how happy I am with these stretches. 3 years ago, I started my cheerleading journey. I never thought I’d be able to be like the older girls doing flips and all those cool tricks in the air. After my coaches recommended your videos to me, it changed my whole cheerleading style. I used to never be able to do a bridge 3 years ago. If I did do my bridge, it looked horrible! I’ve been stretching everyday now and my cartwheels, hand stands, back bends, and kick overs look like a professional has taught me. And a professional did actually teach it. Her name is Anna McNulty. She has taught me so much in these past 3 years ❤

I love how you care about the beginners also and not just the more advanced. I want to be just like you one day.

Edit: hey people. I quit gymnastics and started skateboarding. I got the bendy back after about 3 and a half weeks so you can do it :)

I’m gonna do this every school day and track my progress! I have really bad back flexibility, although I do have my splits!
Day one, April 19: I tried all the stretches best I could but it was hard for me and my back hurt while doing them
Day two, April 20: Today I warmed up first, so I could do them a bit easier, but it still hurt my back
Day three, April 21: I was able to do them easier today! My back hurt less too, even though I’m still not flexible. It’s already working!
Day four, April 24: A bit easier today too, I skipped a few days because of the weekend but yeah I think I’m slowly improving!
Day five, April 25: The stretches are really hard to do, but each day I can do them a bit longer without having to stop!
Day six, April 26: I’m definitely getting better at doing them now! The standing backbend kind of hurts though so I’m careful while doing it
Day seven, April 27: I’m getting there but I’m trying not to hurt myself
Day eight, April 28: It keeps getting a little easier to do the stretches each time!
Day nine, May 2: I missed the weekend again and was too busy to do it on Monday, but I made sure to do it today! I can do the stretches about the same but I think I’m slowly improving.
Day 10, May 3: slow improvement!
Day 11, May 4: I was really tired doing it this time because I had worked out beforehand but I still did the stretches 😅
Day 12, May 5: I was feeling really unmotivated today so i didn’t do any stretch routines except this one, but I was able to do the backbend without my back hurting, so that’s progress!
Day 13, May 8: I’ve been really busy and I usually skip the weekend anyways, so it’s been a few days. But I’m still making progress! I was able to do the standing backbend without any pain, and I can also do a normal backbend so it’s definitely working!
Day 14, May 9: About the same, just slow progress! Also ty so much for the likes ❤
Day 15, May 10: I’m making good progress, my back is pretty flexible now!
Day 16, May 11: Guys I’m SO HAPPY I can touch my head to the back of my feet while in a sealstretch! I’m so exciteddd
Day 17, May 12: About the same progress, I’m also working on walking in my backbend because I’ve always wanted to be able to do that!
Day 18, May 15: As usual, I skipped the weekend, but yeah basically the same, I can do a standing backbend relatively well and I can still touch my head to the back of my feet in a sealstretch, which is cool! 😅
Day 19, May 16: I can’t believe I’m almost finished with the challenge! I’m way more flexible now but I still can’t grab onto my leg with both arms in a backbend…my leg immediately starts badly cramping when I try and I don’t know why! 😂
Day 20, May 17: I’VE FINISHED! I finally made it!! I’m so much more flexible now and I’m gonna keep doing this occasionally to keep it and work in my backbend, thank you sm for the support everyone!! ❤

Day 11: I’m getting soooo much closer to my backbend even than yesterday, and it feels so much less scary to fall into a backbend than it felt before, now i feel like I’m going to be ready soon to start attempting a backbend. These stretches are very effective on stretching out my back which is also helpful for slowly getting rid of my fear of backbends. Thank you soooo much Anna. You are extremely helpful and I will always support your videos and use them for help <3

Finally a back stretching routine without any bridges!!! I have really serve shoulder issues which makes me not allowed to do any backbends because my shoulders will pop out of place, I used to have a really flexible back but after my injury I lost it :/ I’m really excited to gain it back!!

Ty Anna so much from what I was before I could barely touch my toes on the ground in a chest stand and I’m on my 18th day of this stretching routine and now I can lay my legs flat on the floor in a chest stand and also I’m tysm Anna I love you you’ve helped me improve so my I’m going to stretch every day for 15 years! You just make me so inspired I love your stretching Tutorials and your personality Anna ! I’m so proud of you to come all this way your my idol !
