How to eat garlic correctly? It you are swallowing, cooking, or microwaving your garlic cloves, you are getting no benefit.

Many people consume raw garlic for its health benefits. However, many do it wrongly.

This video discusses the science behind the benefits of garlic. Garlic's main active ingredient, allicin, does not exist in an uncut clove.

If you swallow, cook, or microwave a clove without chewing or chopping it, you get no health benefits. Even chewing and swallowing it immediately is not a good idea. Experts advise letting the chopped garlic sit for 10 minutes before consuming it. The video explains the reasons.

The video talks about various ways raw garlic is consumed: garlic pearls, garlic oil, garlic oil macerate, dried garlic powder, enterically–coated tablet containing dried garlic powder, aged garlic extract, etc. The latter two offer most benefits of garlic; the former ones don't.

Besides garlic in my regular meals, I drink about 8oz water mixed with a spoonful water of garlic
and ginger everyday. This fellow commentator is 74 next week and has no health problems of
any kind so far in my whole life.

Have been taking 3 to 4 small cloves for years. Put it thru garlic press and ingest 10 to 15min later with1 /4 to 1/3 cup of plain canned pumpkin. Have had no colds infections for about eight years.

from all i've read and seen, the following is as good as any other method, and there's no need to chew raw garlic:
- crush it with a garlic press
- allow to stand for 10 minutes
- take a small amount of honey on a teaspoon and put the crushed garlic on top so that it sticks to the honey
- pop it in your mouth (but don't chew it)
- wash it down with plenty of water
(peanut butter instead of honey if you prefer although i'm told something in the honey helps get the most benefit from the garlic)

you can crash it and swallow it with water just before lunch ...ZERO bad breath...trust me i am doing it daily the last 2 years

Been crunching 2 cloves a day for about a year.
On not an empty stomach I crunch both cloves until I can swallow easily.
Chase with either milk or better is lemon water with some honey in.
Maybe an apple but the Lemmon does a good job to neutralise breath.

I chop one garlic clove each morning and chase it with kefir. When I have my lunch I chop 3 or four cloves and eat it along with my food. I always let it sit for10 minutes before I consume.

I am 63 yrs old, i drink 1 glass garlic water with 2 gloves thinly chopped garlic every morning for the last 6 years and i am very much thankful with regards to my health. I never failed for medical requirement as an overseas worker.

Chopped garlic and leave it 10 minutes then put that garlic in water and just drink is same as chew it? May water disturb that allicin emitting? Any opinion? Thanks.

First-of-all, thank you for answeing everyone here in comments.
My questions are:
1) I read somewhere that fermenting for longer is better. If I can crush the cloves & store in honey (in a glass airtight mason jar) for few days in fridge, will it ferment & be better? If so, for how many days is the best?
2) Is it ok to take just 1 or 2 cloves this way in morning, even if you take statin (for cholesterol) at night?

do you wanna know the full potential of garlic and side effects ( from personal experience ) read here
benefits :
1): help greatly for cardiovascular diseases (combine it with hawnthorn (crataegus) arythmia,
2): it cleance the arteries from cholesterol (LDL is not really bad the inflammation of LDL is ) and atherosclerosis (personal experience) combine it with super powerfull hawnthorn (dried herb not tincture) it helps circulation in ppl with diabetes and intermittent claudication

and not just prevention of damaging the arteries but also impvoving the already bad condition (with exersise as well) (unless main artery is blocked )

3) :strong antiaging (personal experience 10 y +) exept the very strong antioxidant effects, it causes a reaction that also cause aditional antiaging, combine with hawnthorn ) cinnamon ceylon (with raw honey prefered heather or manuka) +a bit of clove, also turmeric with cocunut cream or some fats + honey raw + cayenne pepper +1 lemon to break and prevent oxalate from creating calcium stones and blend them together for max effectivness or even better fresh turmeric
also if you want even better results DHEA (Antiaging king) and uniquie antioxidants then ashwagandha (indian ginseng)


combine that with high quality proteins like good quality eggs, fresh milk greek yogurt, kinoa, salmon etc
and on skin (face) first UNfiltered olive oil +tea tree essential oils few drops (bio and top grade only) , then after 1 hour turmeric + a dark raw honey bio

side effects: 1:) anticoagulant interaction (major) antiflammatory drugs like ibuprofen (major) avoid combination of those at all costs also many spices and most herbal suplements boost INR or make blood more fluid is i f you use turmeric + spices + garlic etc on large doses you need some coagulant like lemons black and red pepper vit k1 k2 , also be carefull if you want to combine large doses of spices + garlic +fish oil and ofc you cant use those herbal blood thiners with drug antiflammatory or drug blood thiners like warfarin etc

3 :)also in continues useage it creates Hemolysis

4:) solution to hemolysis is eating a lof green vegetables (moderate improvement) or ginseng or fresh ginger (heamatopiesis the oposite) but ginger and garlic both are blood thiners never the less


preparation use this way for max effectivness : we need one blender + 3-5 big garlic cloves + 1 banana and some water idealy we can add some cinnamon ceylon and raw honey or some fruits and blend them together and eat it within 5 mins this also will release 100% the alicin

First “crush” 1 big or 2 small Garlic Cloves of peeled raw Garlic with a “Garlic Press”(a manual hand operated machine device which can be bought at any kitchenware store for cheap), put this “crushed” Garlic into a Coffee Cup and let it sit for “10 minutes” is a must, then add a full cup of “hot water” with a tea bag of “Peppermint Tea” (gets rid of bad breath from garlic), steep it and let it sit for “5 minutes”, remove the tea bag and add a “Teaspoon of Honey” (& some Ceylon Cinnamon if you want is optional) and stir well. Drink 1/2 of this cup of tea down, take a Spoon and eat & swallow this “crushed” Garlic at the bottom of the cup then wash (drink) it down with the remaining tea.
~I think this is the best way to do it.!! It is a lot simpler than it looks because once you start doing it twice a day it becomes routine and very easy to do.
