DISCLAIMER: THIS VIDEO IS WRONG! I recently learned this myth is not what it was claimed to be - it's a fake story attributed to the Lenape by outside authors. It's deceptively widespread, and I don't want to contribute to that wave of misinformation!

I'm really glad that Red discovered the truth behind this tale and decided to immediately let the rest of us know that this supposedly authentic Lenape story was actually fake. Demonstrates real loyalty to her watchers and subscribers.

It does suck, though, because this is a really enjoyable story. I'll just re-watch it and think of it as fan-fiction.

Red, I really appreciate the correction. I teach mythology and have been using this story for a couple years. Today I'm going to apologize to my kids for using it without realizing it was fabricated. And I'm going to track down a collection of real Lenape stories for my class library. Thank you for not letting this slide.

Oof, imagine spending so much time meaningfully and painstakingly retelling a cultural myth with gorgeous illustrations, skillful video editing and witty voice over, only to find out *more than a year after the fact* that the myth you covered is total hogwash.
