Still tired when you wake up? Here's why and what to do about it.

Today, we'll talk about what can cause you to be tired after sleeping and what you can do about it. There are four cycles or waves of sleep. Your body goes from superficial sleep to deep sleep and back throughout the night.

Superficial sleep is REM sleep. The deeper sleep is called delta. You have to have that delta wave in order to wake up feeling rejuvenated. People who wake up feeling tired are having poor quality sleep.

If you can't sleep well, you should try to identify what part of the body won't turn "off." Once you identify which part of the body is causing you not to sleep, you can use my massage tool to perform a unique acupressure technique I developed to help you extract stress, relax, and sleep much better.

One thing that was an absolute GAME CHANGER for me was opening a window / bedroom door to increase ventilation.

Thanks for another fantastic video! Although I lament this info wasn't available to me about 14 years ago to alter the downward trajectory of my health, I am most grateful to have it today! 😊

I have an overly sensitive nervous system most likely from ptsd childhood trauma and anxiety and stress from a nursing management career for over 35 yrs. I carry my stress in the heart area and have experienced non cardiac related chest pressure. Anti anxiety and antidepressants do not work for me... I experience a lot of side effects from medications and cannot take thyroid med [ gb removed at 50 yrs old] without a low dose of valium to alleviate chest pains. I haven't slept well, even as a child bc I would be slapped awake early mornings to run errands and to also get my siblings ready for school since both parents went to work early a.m. and responsible for their care after school bc they went immediately after work to drink until the local bar closed... a lot of responsibility for an 8 yr old child. My head knows this all happened a long time ago but my nervous system doesn't. Sorry for over-sharing but just wanted to say... all this that Dr Berg says is very relatable.

what about low cortisol levels in the early morning as a factor for feeling tired in the morning?

It works. Not only for sleep, but it helps to reduce pain too.

Dr Bergman said you can fix insomnia by waking up every morning at 4 am for one week and lay down in bed before 10. This apparently resets your circadian rhythm. I tried it and it actually worked but only for a few months. I need to try it again.

This is what happens to me very often. The thing is I only can sleep 6 hours as much. I get up everyday at 3 am 6 days a week for work. I wish I could sleep more or sleep until 5 at least but simply I can't.

Dr. Berg I'd like all the valuable infornation you gave in every video were adapted to people whose don't work 9 am to 5 am Monday to friday. Thank you anyway for your amazing videos. I've learned a lot😊

Obviously he is selling stuff. In truth, if you are feeling tired on a regular basis, it is most likely from sleep apnea and or restless legs syndrome. I am lucky enough to have BOTH!
