I saw online that if you rollback from 11 to 10, you have to do a clean install meaning all of your data gets reset if you don’t have an external backup, so be careful and do your research before doing anything

There's a way to get around this and not be charged every year for security updates, it's called Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2021. This version of Windows 10 will receive security updates untill 2032. 1 year after Windows 11's end of life

Why does a basic OS need soooo much hardware?
What garbage is running in the background?

You can flash the ISO Using Rufus to make it not require TPM 2.0

Zach, this news story is false. Microsoft is still enforcing tpm 2.0 and its other hardware restrictions for Windows 11. The PCWorld article incorrectly cites a Microsoft support document from the 21H2 era. If someone attempts to install on or upgrade unsupported hardware the installer will still fail, citing unsupported hardware as the reason for it failing.

Windows 10 is what I’m staying with forever. It’s such a clean design simple easy to navigate. When you swipe left and down you always get the windows menu.

"upgrade" is an interesting way to describe windows 11

Except they aren't. That was a misconception, they're still doubling down on the TPM 2.0 requirement, which is gonna be impossible since many people either don't have that in their motherboard, cannot afford a motherboard with it built in, or cannot afford a new computer entirely JUST to upgrade to Windows 11. At best what Microsofr should be doing is removing the TPM 2.0 requirement and make Secure Boot be the only thing mandatory, with TPM 2.0 being optional, since not alot of people have that on their motherboards.

I removed the TPM chip from my MB just to prevent windows 11. No more dual booting for me i guess it's %100 linux next year.

Guys, just install the LTSC IoT versions of Win10/Win11, no TPM, and decades of security updates.

Yeah Microsoft always say that they are abandoning a windows version only to give it more updates a few months later.

I remember my school has laptop that are somehow running windows 11 despite the fact that the CPUs in them are unsupported...

Charging for security updates is crazy.
Windows 11 still has weird issues and old programs that don't run well. Going to stick with windows 10 for now and move to 11 when they release windows 12.

I got my PC end of 2020 and it doesn't have TPM 2.0 so I've been kinda stuck because of that. I spent too much money on this thing and I want it to last 10 years no way am I going to ditch it half way through the 10 years.

(You can check a box so you can install an os without meeting the requirements)

Core 2 Quad Q9x00 series would be the best recommended option for an old PC.
