I still find the lava lamp encryption used by Cloud Flare to be the most interesting method

My random number generated by temp fluctiuations is gonna be easy to crack, because I'm always at 90c thermal throttling.

As someone who has had to recover a lot of data from a lot of hard drives for a lot of people I foresee a lot of problems with drives being encrypted by default...

When a security can be so secure that you might end up losing all your life data information if for some reason you lose the key...

Um. Yeah. It's just we're putting new cover sheets on all the TPM reports from now on.

0:53 Software can already generate random numbers using random data from the environment or from the user. Like voltage and temperature fluctuations, and keyboard and mouse input.

The best random number generator I can get are my cheap non-ECC ram sticks.

The total downer about these requirements is leaving off older CPUs regardless of them having TPM 2.0 already. I suspect Microsoft might eventually add older CPUs like the Intel 7gen to the compatibility list but in my opinion the requirement should only be TPM 2.0 regardless of the CPU age.

Cant wait for people to bring in their bricked machine to reinstall/data recovery, and having to deal with this fucking tpm mess. Oh yeah, IT shops will love it.

my thought is simple; if big tech is pushing sort of low key hard on this.... i'm not so sure its as good of an idea as it may seem at first glance... completely ignoring the obvious issues.

They're considering Ryzen 1st Gen and 7th Gen for Intel, hopefully that would be changed :/

I really don't see the problem here. If your system components are too old, good news, Windows 10 will continue to receive updates for 5 years or so. If your hardware is already 5 years old now, it will be 10 years old then, and if you haven't upgraded by that point then... well, why aren't you on Linux again?

You probably heard this before, but: *My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is Ruined*

The smaller ones summed:
-Tons of features almost exclusive to tablets and touch notebooks that remove older more known ones
-Menu button on the middle
-Taskbar search is even more useless
-MacOS look. (For people who don't like it. Like me)
-Every hardware from 2016 and older can say byebye

I doubt many consumers give-a-shit about TPM and just won't upgrade, or will just buy a pre-built

See the problem with the login example in that for over a decade there's been a bug that let's you login as an administrator with just a flash drive.

I simply turned on secure boot and enabled my TPM in Bios.. then it was smooth sailing.. and no complaints so far with Windows 11 ... other then the amount of updates... but that goes with the territory with a "new" OS

Riley is always one of my favourites to watch with LMG. I know it’s a good day when Riley hosts the tech news or tech quickies. Wish he would tell me how he always manages to be so positive.
