In this video I will discuss the absorption of photons due atmospheric water vapor.

Is there actual back-radiation with the greenhouse effect? In the sense that IR is absorbed by CO2 and then in turn radiated back to the earth heating it?

Loving this series! Would it be possible to do a video on the interplay between reflected light and air light due to Mie scattering as seen in aerial perspective? If there’s a calculation for changes in hue, chroma, and value of colours with distance that would be amazing to see!

If you turn the speed on this video to 1.5X, Dr. van Biezen talks and writes just as fast as my current physics professor.
The quest to understand a photon series was genius and inspired. Thanks Dr. van Biezen

Is there a way to reduce water vapor in the atmosphere? to help with global warming.

Thanks for a nice presentation. You mentioned the CO2 absorption bands at ~ 2, 3, 4um. Regarding CO2 absorption in 1-4um:

1) What is the amount of terrestrial IR actually being emitted in this range and how much do these bands readily absorb this outgoing IR?

2) How much incoming solar IR is there in this range and how much CO2 absorption occurs in this 1-4um band? Does the blockage of solar IR by CO2 in the 1-4um range at high altitude (and subsequent re-emission back to space) reduce IR energy from reaching earth, and contribute to cooling with increasing CO2 concentration?

Is there any data or references about the above?

Thank you!
