Although a large part of the game is this slower style, I never felt like it was tedious or got bored because I was interested and felt immersed

The UI is amazing, even Sakurai praised that and used some ideas for smash ultimate.

I just finished Persona 5 and Strikers right after and now I feel so empty. It's like how the Thieves said bye for now. It's like for now I lost my friends.

I can agree with this. I never had a problem grinding because 1, animations are cool and 2, texts that say what I got and xp, and if I leveled up is a big bonus.

Persona 5 also NEVER stops moving. The camera sways, corners have twirling stars, text bubbles having sharp, moving edges. It never stills so your eyes never get bored. At the same time, these small movements are subtle enough to not be exhausting. It’s amazing design.

This is where other JRPG fails: between battles, you are bored, in Persona you are committed to the world and you want to see how the life continues.

I will pretend like this short was not an excuse to show Kawakami in a maid uniform

I took graphic design for 4 years and still practice on and off and I remember learning about a method ad users and magazines use called the Z method and it starts when the title or font catches your attention from the top left and you read it to the right and then inspect the image going down to the left/center and start reading the text at the bottom left then to the right. Kinda reminds me of that really cool

In short: we’re moving our eyes in circles and being being hypnotized 😂

Every element of the UI has subtle animation going on too. Even the "camera" is never entirely stationary.

The combat is what did it for me. I loved ambushing targets and I got good at setting up combos based on trail and error. By the time I started NG+ I was soloing the Reaper for fun. The style makes battles engaging

Not only that but the profile icons look like the camera is zooming into the characters actual facial expressions, giving you a sense of being up close and personal to them. Most games of this genre are unable to portray this even if they have portraits of their own.

Also all the music in this game slaps. This alone could be a reason to play the game

The thing about magic is once you know the trick it won’t work anymore. The thing about passion is it there are no tricks only feelings. And the passion for this game feels magical

I LOVE Persona 5, and never really thought about this concept. Cool though.

So that makes sense why i can play this game 10 hours at a time without going into a palace or mementos without getting bored
