Sounds like another higher third brain function that is evaluating, filtering emotional events. I feel your advice is tremendous. So thankful.

And then they act like I'm delusional and deny it.

I agree that a re-action can happen triggered by trauma, still it is worth wile to try to become conscious and put in Words...

The great public speaker Zig Ziglar spoke about responding vs. reacting. He used medication as a metaphor. When the medication works, you're responding. When it doesn't, your body reacts.

Unless you have PTSD, one can have a filter and state it but trauma forces the body to behave differently than the mind.

Coming from trauma baggage where reactions were stifled to avoid more trauma, fast forward to finally being able to react without being traumatized, and verbalizing your reactive feelings or hurts, continuing to filter/stifle isn't conducive for mental/physical health, now, your blood pressure escalates ... at this point I would need to release the pressure by breathing and vocalizing the hurt, then would I be able to think clearly and then process in a more calmed exchange. Bottled up anger stunts logical thinking or solution driven conversations.

My problem is it takes me a LONG time to respond… like too long. Then when I bring it up I’m ancient 😂.
I must be wise beyond my years emotionally. 😂

Great in theory (and I’m loving all the tips 🙂), but how do you control that when you are neuro-divergent? We can be very sensitive to what everyone is feeling, but if exhausted or our system is overwhelmed, responding like this can seem impossible and we’re focused on just not shutting or melting down. Any suggestions gratefully received!
